إني أنا وبينما

قلت لكم أني أنا

I am, and while

I told you I am

كنت أنا ألف أنا

مكرَّراً مكوَّنا

I was a thousand I's

Repeated, composed

بسرعة من خالقي

غيب الغيوب ذي السنا

Quickly by my Creator

The hidden of hidden with glory

برقٌ أضا وبطنا

ثم أضا وبطنا

A lightning that struck repeatedly

Then struck repeatedly

لأنني عن أمره

كن فيكون باعتنا

Because I am of His command

Be and it becomes, carefully

وأمره واحدة

طبق الذي قال لنا

And His command is one

Apply what He told us

وهكذا الكون جمي

عاً كل وقتٍ مثلنا

And so is the universe

Together, every time like us

لأنه خلقٌ وخل

قُ الله بالأمر دنا

Because He created and created

Allah by command came close

فإن من آياته

خلقاً بأمرٍ كُوِّنا

So of His signs

Created by command composed

ألا له الخلقُ كما

قد قال والأمرُ هنا

No doubt, creation is His as

He said and the command is here

فصدقوه واتركوا

ما للعقول ديدنا

So believe Him and leave

What minds are accustomed to

فالعقل ربط كله

للمدركات هاهنا

For the mind links all

To perceptions here

وربنا أصدق من

عقل الفتى تيقُّنا

And our Lord is more truthful than

The mind of the lad no doubt

ومع كتاب الله لا

يليق غيره بنا

And with Allah's book does not

Befit other than it for us

وإن قومي قد بنوا

عليه أقوَمَ البِنا

And my people have built

Upon it the straightest structure

وما رضوا عقولهم

تكون فيهم آمَنا

And they did not accept their minds

To be safe among them

على عقائدٍ لهم

لأنها خلق الدُّنا

On beliefs they have

For it is the creation of life

والقوم لما كوشفوا

بأمره وهو المنى

And when the people were revealed

By His command, which is the purpose

رأوا به قيامهم

وكل شيء علنا

They saw by it their standing

And everything clearly

عن أمره كالبرق أو

مثل أنابيب القنا

About His command like lightning or

Like pipes of the waterway

من أجل ذا يقول من

قد قال خالقي أنا

That is why whoever

Said my Creator is I

وقول هذا خطأ

أوجبه ذوق الفنا

And this saying is wrong

It necessitated the taste of extinction

لنفسه وغيره

بلا ثبوبت زمنا

For himself and others

Without fixed duration

فلو صحا من سكره

رأى الإله غيرنا

So if he sobered from his drunkenness

He would see God other than us

لأننا خلق له

بأمره كوَّننا

Because we are created for Him

By His command composed

وأمره كاللمح قل

من بصرٍ إذا رنا

And His command is like a blink say

From a sight when delight

والخلق هكذا بلا

تردُّدٍ ولا عنا

And creation is thus without

Hesitation and effort

كما أتى ربِّيَ قل

يقذفُ بالحق بنا

As my Lord came rarely

Casts the truth at us

نظير ما قالوه في ال

أعراضِ قولاً متقنا

Similar to what they said in

Qualities words well composed

لو أنصفوا فالكل أع

راضٌ وهذا عندنا

If they were fair, then all

Qualities, and this is what we know

لكنهم قد غرَّهم

عقل لهم تفننا

But they were deluded

By a mind they excelled in

في كل شيء فاقتدوا

به وأُنْسُوا ربَّنا

In everything, so follow it

And forget our Lord

فما اقتدوا بقوله

ولا رأوه حسنا

So they did not follow His saying

Nor saw it good

وأنكروا على الذي

بقوله الحق اغتنى

And they denied the one

Who by his saying the truth suffices

ولم يتابعهم على

عقولهم ولا اعتنى

And did not follow their minds

Nor cared for them

بهم وربي حاكم

غدا بحق بيننا

And my Lord will judge

Tomorrow in truth between us
