He is everything in the one existence.

He is everything existent, the One

He is every being there, and every finder.

He is every existent being there is andFinder

هو علم الأسماءَ آدمَ كلَّها

هو علم الأسماءَ آدمَ كلَّها

هو كل مولود يكون ووالدِ

هو كل مولود يكون ووالدِ

He taught Adam all the names.

He taught Adam all the names, knowledge entire

He is every child who comes to be, and every parent.

He is every born child and parent

ما قصدنا الشيء الذي هو هالك

ما قصدنا الشيء الذي هو هالك

بل قصدنا وجه الوجود القاصد

بل قصدنا وجه الوجود القاصد

We did not mean the thing that perishes;

We do not intend the perishing thing

Rather, we meant the purposeful face of existence.

Rather, we intend the Ever-Existent, the Willful

وهو الوجود الحق في غيب الورى

وهو الوجود الحق في غيب الورى

متنزه عن درك كل مشاهد

متنزه عن درك كل مشاهد

And He is true existence in creation’s unseen realm,

He is the True Existence, unseen mystery

Transcendent beyond every observer’s grasp.

Above all witnessed, beyond perceiver

هو لم يلد أبداً ولم يولد ولا

هو لم يلد أبداً ولم يولد ولا

كفء له أحد مقالة لاحِدِ

كفء له أحد مقالة لاحِدِ

He has never begotten, nor been begotten, nor

He never gave birth, nor was He born

Is anyone His equal—a heretic’s assertion.

None comparable, no equal, no second

لا شيء يشبهه ولا هو مشبه

لا شيء يشبهه ولا هو مشبه

شيئاً تعالى عن دراية وارد

شيئاً تعالى عن دراية وارد

Nothing resembles Him, nor does He resemble

Nothing resembles Him, nor makes Him resemble

Anything; He is exalted beyond the understanding of anyone who approaches.

Exalted beyond knowing, no likeness afforded

والكل صورهن من عدم له

والكل صورهن من عدم له

وقايامهن به بأمر واحد

وقايامهن به بأمر واحد

And all—He fashioned them from nothing for Himself;

All forms from nothingness come by His making

And their subsistence is through Him, by a single command.

Their standing by His command, the One

هو أمره القدر المقدر دائماً

هو أمره القدر المقدر دائماً

في عين معترف بذاك وجاحد

في عين معترف بذاك وجاحد

He is His command, the destiny always decreed,

His ordained decree, the fate determined ever

Within the very being of one who acknowledges that and one who denies it.

In the view of confessor and denier

متنزه هو عن مقادير الورى

متنزه هو عن مقادير الورى

بوجوده الحق المبين الشاهد

بوجوده الحق المبين الشاهد

He is transcendent beyond creation’s measures,

Above the measures of creation is He

Through His true, manifest, witnessing existence.

By His real being, clear and evident Seer

قمنا به بوجود أمر سائل

قمنا به بوجود أمر سائل

كاللمح من بصر إقامة عابد

كاللمح من بصر إقامة عابد

Through Him we came to stand, through the existence of a flowing command,

We came to be by His commanding existence

Like the flash of an eye, sustaining a worshipper.

Like a glance from a worshipper's eye sincere

والجاهلون بأمره أيضاً لهم

والجاهلون بأمره أيضاً لهم

هذا ولكن بالوجود الجامد

هذا ولكن بالوجود الجامد

And those ignorant of His command also have

And the ignorant of His affair still have

This, but through inert existence.

This, but as an inert existence here

الله أكبر لا سواه وإنما

الله أكبر لا سواه وإنما

يعطي ويمنع ليس بالمتباعد

يعطي ويمنع ليس بالمتباعد

Allah is greatest; none but Him, and He alone

God is Greatest, none like Him

Gives and withholds; He is not far removed.

He gives and withholds, no distance peered
