إنماonly وحدةoneness الوجودBeing لديناfor us
إنما وحدة الوجود لدينا
وحدةoneness الحقthe Real فافهمواso understand ماwhat نقولُwe say
وحدة الحق فافهموا ما نقولُ
For us, the oneness of Being is nothing but
We have only the unity of existence,
The oneness of the Real—so understand what we say.
The unity of truth, so understand what we say.
وحدةoneness اللهGod وحدةoneness لاno سواهاother than it
وحدة الله وحدة لا سواها
شهدتهاwitnessed it مناamong us الكبارthe great ones الفحولthe consummate masters
شهدتها منا الكبار الفحول
God's oneness, and no other oneness;
The unity of God, the only unity,
The great masters among us have witnessed it.
Our great men have testified to this.
وسواءand it is the same قلناwe say الوجودBeing أوor الحthe Real (first part)
وسواء قلنا الوجود أو الح
قcompletion of 'the Real' فلاso there is no فرقdifference عندناfor us ياO جهولignorant one
ق فلا فرق عندنا يا جهول
And whether we say Being or the
Whether we say existence or truth,
Real, there is no difference for us, O ignorant one.
There is no difference for us, O ignorant ones.
لاdo not تظنsuppose الوجودBeing حيثwherever ذكرناwe mentioned
لا تظن الوجود حيث ذكرنا
هit هوit is الخلقcreation عندناfor us المبذولfreely bestowed
ه هو الخلق عندنا المبذول
Do not think that Being, wherever we mention
Do not think that the existence we mentioned
it, is for us the creation freely bestowed.
Is the creation we have given.
هوit is حقthe Real بعدafter الفناannihilation عنfrom سواهall but Him
هو حق بعد الفنا عن سواه
يتجلىmanifests Himself فتضمحلand so dissolve العقولthe intellects
يتجلى فتضمحل العقول
It is the Real; after one's passing away from all but Him,
It is the truth after annihilation from everything else
He manifests Himself, and so intellects dissolve.
That reveals itself, so minds are dumbfounded.
ولهذاand for this reason كانwas الفناannihilation هوitself شرطاًa condition
ولهذا كان الفنا هو شرطاً
عندناfor us للمريدfor the seeker فيهin it حلولdwelling
عندنا للمريد فيه حلول
And for this reason, annihilation itself is a condition
That is why annihilation was a requirement for us
For us, for the seeker to dwell in it.
For the disciple, so that the truth descends in him.
وهوand it is طهرpurification الأرواحthe spirits منfrom نجسan impurity قدalready
وهو طهر الأرواح من نجس قد
حلَّsettled فيهاin them منfrom الكثيفdense matter يجولroams
حلَّ فيها من الكثيف يجول
And it is the purification of spirits from an impurity that has
It is the purification of souls from an impurity that
Settled in them, coming from dense matter and roaming about.
Has mixed in them from the dense wanderer.
لطخstained الروحَthe spirit حينwhen خالطهاmingled with her إذfor
لطخ الروحَ حين خالطها إذ
جهلتهshe did not know it وغابand was absent عنهاfrom her القبولacceptance
جهلته وغاب عنها القبول
It stained the spirit when it mingled with her, for
The soul was stained when it was mixed with ignorance
She knew it not, and acceptance was absent from her.
And acceptance was absent from it.
واعتراهاand befell her أيضاًalso هناhere حدثritual impurity منfrom
واعتراها أيضاً هنا حدث من
كلevery معنىmeaning بهwith it الحجىthe intellect مشغولoccupied
كل معنى به الحجى مشغول
And here, too, ritual impurity befell her, from
It was also afflicted here by an event
Every meaning with which the intellect is occupied.
From every meaning the proof is busy with.
فالنجاساتso impurities مانعاتhindrances to المصلِّيthe one who prays
فالنجاسات مانعات المصلِّي
وكذاكand likewise الأحداثstates of ritual impurity حينwhen تحولintervene
وكذاك الأحداث حين تحول
So impurities hinder the one who prays,
Impurities prevent the praying person,
And so do states of ritual impurity, when they stand
As do events when they come between.
بينbetween ربيmy Lord وبينهand between him فارفعوهاso remove them
بين ربي وبينه فارفعوها
بعلومthrough knowledge السماheaven يكونcomes about الوصولattainment
بعلوم السما يكون الوصول
Between my Lord and him—so remove them.
So remove them between me and my Lord,
Through heavenly knowledge comes attainment.
With the sciences of heaven the arrival will be.
