1. إن الوجود الواحد ال

    موصوف فينا بالقدمْ

    Indeed, the one Existence, the—

    —One whose oneness is affirmed, is within us from pre-eternity.

  2. هو ظاهر بصفاته

    لي من شبابيك العدمْ

    He is manifest through His attributes

    to me, through the windows of nonbeing.

  3. عدم العوالم كلها

    في الأصل مبنى ما انهدم

    The nonbeing of all the worlds

    is, at root, an edifice never overthrown.

  4. لا تنظرن لها وقل

    ما في الوجود لها قدم

    Do not look upon them, but say:

    Within Existence they possess no pre-eternity.

  5. وانظر إلى صرف الوجو

    د فقط بلا لحم ودم

    And behold sheer Exis—

    —tence alone, without flesh or blood.

  6. فهو المنزه عن سوا

    ه ولا يحيق بك الندم

    For He transcends all that is other than—

    —Him, and no regret will encompass you.

  7. واعلم بأنك قد أمر

    ت بما أمرت وما انصدم

    Know that you have been command—

    —ed to do what you were commanded; and what had been nonexistent,

  8. بِقُلِ انظروا يا قوم ما

    ذا في السموات احتدم

    through the saying, “Look, my people, at what is—

    —in the heavens,” blazed forth.

  9. ومن الموالي كن ولا

    تكن المهان من الخدم

    Be one of the masters, and do not—

    —be the abased among the servants.

  10. ولنفسك اعرف واعترف

    بالحق واترك من كدم

    Know for yourself, and acknowledge

    the Truth; and leave whoever has carped.
