خالق الكل واحدُ

خالق الكل واحدُ

وهو للكل قاصدُ

The Creator of all is One.

And He is intent upon all.

وتأمله فهو في

أنت والكل شاهد

And contemplate Him, for within

you and all things He is present.

فإذا قلت أنني

فإذا قلت أنني

أنا والكل واحد

أنا والكل واحد

So if you say, 'I—

I and all are one,'

قلت حقا إذا انتفى

قلت حقا إذا انتفى

عنك ما أنت جاحد

عنك ما أنت جاحد

you speak truly, if there falls away

from you what you deny;

حيث لا نفس تدعي

حيث لا نفس تدعي

ما ترى أو تعاند

ما ترى أو تعاند

where no self lays claim to

what it sees, or stubbornly resists;

حيث لم يخف عنك ما

حيث لم يخف عنك ما

أنت فيه معاهد

أنت فيه معاهد

where it is not concealed from you what

you are pledged to:

من فناء محقق

من فناء محقق

في وجود يشاهد

في وجود يشاهد

a fully realized annihilation

in an existence beheld;

حيث لا غيره ولا

حيث لا غيره ولا

شيء يلقاه واجد

شيء يلقاه واجد

where there is none other than Him, nor

anything a finder encounters.

فاعتبر ما أقوله

فاعتبر ما أقوله

دون ما قال حاسد

دون ما قال حاسد

So heed what I say,

rather than what an envier has said.

وتحقق به وكن

وتحقق به وكن

عين كن يا مساعد

عين كن يا مساعد

And be certain of it, and be

the very essence of 'Be!', O helper.

تلق كن عينه بلا

تلق كن عينه بلا

أحرف هم زوائد

أحرف هم زوائد

You will find 'Be!' itself, without

letters—they are additions.

إنما الحرف عندنا

إنما الحرف عندنا

طرف عنه حائد

طرف عنه حائد

The letter, for us, is only

an edge that turns away from Him.

وهو حد لمطلق

وهو حد لمطلق

عنه فيه الفوائد

عنه فيه الفوائد

And it is a limit to the Absolute,

which is beyond it; within it lie the benefits.
