وجود وأشيا ما لهن وجودُ

فتبدو به منه له وتعودُ

Existence and things have no existence

So through Him they appear from Him and return

ملابس نور في هياكل ظلمة

لهن اعتراف بالهوى وحجود

Garments of light in bodies of darkness

They confess to passion and retreat

على طبق ما في العلم والعلم واحد

قديم بأشيا ما لهن نفود

On the same level as the knowledge and the knowledge is one

Ancient with things that have no expiration

فحيث وجود لاح بعد خفائه

يلوح بشيء مدة ويجود

So where existence shone after its hiding

Something appears for a time and bestows

وتتبعه الأسماء مطلقة به

على حسب الأشياء وهي قيود

And names follow it absolutely through it

According to things and those are restrictions

فسميت الأكوان باسم حدوثها

سماء وأرض صخرة وعمود

So the cosmos were named by the name of their occurrence

Heaven and earth, rock and pillar

وما هو إلا الأمر وهو عوالم

سوائل فيها للعقول جمود

And it is nothing but the command and it is worlds

Liquids in which the minds are immobile

وروح وأرواح كشمس أشعة

بها يكرم المبدي لها ويجود

And a soul and souls like rays of a sun

Through it the Originator honors them and bestows

تكاتف منها النشو وهي لطيفة

لصيغة علم الغيب وهو حدود

Their composition is the delicate

Formulation of the knowledge of the unseen and it has boundaries

على صورة الماء الحياة به بدت

وصورة علم بالهواء ترود

In the image of water, life through it appeared

And image of knowledge in the air it stills

وفي صورة النار الإرادة صورة

وقدرته نحو التراب تقود

And in the image of fire, the will in image

And His power to earth it leads

وما صور الأسماء أجمعها سوى

تفاصيل أفلاك وهن رصود

And the images of all the names are nothing but

Details of orbits and those are observations

ودارت كما دارت قديماً فانتجت

حوادثها الإيقاظ وهي رقود

And they revolved as they revolved before so they produced

Their events, the awakening while they are sleeping

فكان جماداً والنبات كلاهما

حقائق معنى الغيب عنه وفود

So it became inorganic and vegetation, both of them

Realities the meaning of the unseen from them pours forth
