شخصت عيونٌ قلبها مدهوشُ

شخصت عيونٌ قلبها مدهوشُ

لما تجلت للغيوب عروشُ

لما تجلت للغيوب عروشُ

Eyes stared fixedly, their heart bewildered,

Eyes that held stupefied hearts

When thrones became manifest to the unseen realms.

When the veils were lifted from unseen thrones

وهي العيون شئون من هي حرفه

وهي العيون شئون من هي حرفه

وهو الذي لصياحها أطروش

وهو الذي لصياحها أطروش

And these eyes are the affairs of the one whose letter they are,

Those eyes being the affairs of she whose craft it is

And he is the one deaf to their cries.

And he whose cries its minarets adorn

حرف قد انطوت العلوم بنشره

حرف قد انطوت العلوم بنشره

وحوى الجميع بساطه المفروش

وحوى الجميع بساطه المفروش

A letter whose unfolding has enfolded the sciences,

A letter in which all knowledge has enfolded

And his outspread carpet has encompassed all.

Containing everything upon its carpet spread

والنور يظهر عنه في صور الملا

والنور يظهر عنه في صور الملا

فتروح أهل الأنس وهو وحوش

فتروح أهل الأنس وهو وحوش

And light appears from him in the forms of the multitude,

Light appears through it in images of gathering

So the people of intimacy find refreshment, while he is wild and aloof.

So minds find comfort while it is desolate
