غير وجه الحبيب فلينج سالكْ

غير وجه الحبيب فلينج سالكْ

Everything, as the text declares, is perishing,

Everything remains as it came, except the face of the beloved, so let it enlighten the seeker

except the Beloved’s face—so let a wayfarer be saved.

The universe concealed a secret of existence from it, while it shines like the full moon in the dark night

كتم الكون منه سر وجود

كتم الكون منه سر وجود

فيه كالبدر في الظلام الحالك

فيه كالبدر في الظلام الحالك

The cosmos concealed from him a secret of existence,

The denier of truth believes in other than Him, and the other is an idol, so beware in your mind

within it, like the full moon in pitch-black darkness.

How can one remain with the real existence, if His predestined decree is revealed as transient

كافر الحق مؤمن بسواه

كافر الحق مؤمن بسواه

وسواه الطاغوت فاخطر ببالك

وسواه الطاغوت فاخطر ببالك

The denier of the Real believes in what is other than Him;

Like illusions of the minds, it affirms in them what it wanted to exist therein

and what is other than Him is the false deity—so bring it to mind.

The Writer of the unseen wrote on the tablet of the soul, the letters of creatures above that

كيف يبقى مع الوجود الحقيقي

كيف يبقى مع الوجود الحقيقي

إن تبدَّى تقديره المتهالك

إن تبدَّى تقديره المتهالك

How can it remain alongside true existence,

The chemistry of guidance is my scientific sayings, so let them spread among the kingdoms

if its frail supposition becomes manifest?

How much it turned brass structures, into pure gold that illuminates the paths

كخيال العقول يثبت فيها

كخيال العقول يثبت فيها

ما أرادت بأن يكون هنالك

ما أرادت بأن يكون هنالك

Like the minds’ imaginings, within them is established

Our potential for it is enough, its light, so that existence shone like that

whatever they wished to exist there.

Be with it well-known, and be straightforward, and be assured that this is the owner

The scribe of the unseen inscribed on a spirit’s tablet

the letters of beings, from above it.

فاتركوها تشيع بين الممالك

فاتركوها تشيع بين الممالك

The discourses of my knowledge are the alchemy of guidance;

so let them spread among the kingdoms.

كم أحالت هياكلاً من نحاس

ذهباً خالصاً ينير المسالك

ذهباً خالصاً ينير المسالك

How many bodies of copper has it transmuted

into pure gold that illuminates the paths!

كاف إمكاننا لها لون نور

كاف إمكاننا لها لون نور

منه حتى لاح الوجود كذلك

منه حتى لاح الوجود كذلك

The kāf of our contingency has a hue of light

from Him, until existence shone forth thus.

كن به عارفاً وكن مستقيماً

كن به عارفاً وكن مستقيماً

وتحقق فإن هذا المالك

وتحقق فإن هذا المالك

Be a knower of Him, and be upright,

and attain realization, for this is indeed the Master.
