إياك إياك ربكْ تفهمو بالعقلْ

إياك إياك ربكْ تفهمو بالعقلْ

فإن ذا فيك نابتْ مثل نبت البقلْ

فإن ذا فيك نابتْ مثل نبت البقلْ

Beware, beware of understanding your Lord through reason.

For this grows within you like the growth of greens.

وأنت والعقل فاني والذي في الحقلْ

وأنت والعقل فاني والذي في الحقلْ

واعده في الغيبْ واتبعْ ما أتى في النقلْ

واعده في الغيبْ واتبعْ ما أتى في النقلْ

You and reason are perishable, as is whatever is in the field.

Make a tryst with Him in the unseen, and follow what has come through tradition.
