حرف له بالإنحراف مظاهر

وهو الذي هو في الإضافة قاهر

A letter with tendencies to deviate

It is the one that prevails with additions

متنوع الحركات في سكناته

وله كمال بالإحاطة باهر

Its motions are diverse in its dwellings

And it has evident perfection with containment

وجهان فيه فواحد متقاصر

عن درك ما فيه وآخر ماهر

Two faces in it, one deficient

In perceiving what is in it, another skillful

نامت عيون الآولين به وما

منهم به قد فاز إلا الساهر

The eyes of the predecessors have slept on it, yet

None of them have attained it except the vigilant

وحقيقة في الغيب منه تقدست

وتدنت أخرى به تتجاهر

And a reality in its unseen has been sanctified

While another through it is debased and boasts
