لقدindeed أتاناhas reached us حديثٌa hadith عنfrom مشايخناour teachers
لقد أتانا حديثٌ عن مشايخنا
مسلسلاًin a linked chain of transmission أوّليّاًas the first hadith heard from each teacher قدindeed رويناهwe have transmitted it
مسلسلاً أوّليّاً قد رويناه
Indeed, a hadith has reached us from our teachers,
which we have transmitted in a chain as the first heard from each teacher.
قالsaid النبيthe Prophet صلاةblessing اللهGod's دائمةeverlasting
قال النبي صلاة الله دائمة
معwith السلامpeace عليهupon him عندat ذكراهhis remembrance
مع السلام عليه عند ذكراه
The Prophet said (may God's blessing be everlasting,
together with peace upon him whenever he is remembered):
الراحمونthose who show mercy همthey الرحمنthe All-Merciful يرحمهمhas mercy on them
الراحمون هم الرحمن يرحمهم
برحمةby mercy منهfrom Him نرويهwe transmit it بمعناهaccording to its meaning
برحمة منه نرويه بمعناه
The merciful—the All-Merciful has mercy on them.
By His mercy, we transmit it according to its meaning:
منwhoever كانwas يرحمshows mercy منthose who فيon الأرضthe earth يرحمهwill have mercy on him
من كان يرحم من في الأرض يرحمه
منthe One فيin السماءheaven وإنand indeed الراحمthe giver of mercy اللهGod
من في السماء وإن الراحم الله
Whoever shows mercy to those on earth will be shown mercy
by the One in heaven—and indeed, the giver of mercy is God.
