هو يبغي دعوى الوجود لشيء

He seeks to assert existence for a thing,

He seeks to claim existence for something,

whereas I, fully awake, have no existence of my own.

And in wakeful awareness, I have no existence of my own.

صدق الله كل شيء سواه

هالك دون مرية واشتباه

God has spoken truth: everything apart from Him

is perishing, beyond doubt or suspicion.

To Him I trace my relation and my belonging,

and therefore I am called the servant of God.

Thus the existence of mine that you see is His; it is not

So my existence, which you see, is His, not

mine—my God has lent it to me.

فله الحمد أولاً وأخيراً

To Him, then, belongs all praise, first and last,

through all eternity, untouched by any taint of ending.

For all time, without any taint of ending.
