يا نافخ الناي هذا النفخ عمن كانْ
عنfrom نفسهitself أمor عنfrom النافخthe blower عظيمexalted in الشانْrank
عن نفسه أم عن النافخ عظيم الشانْ
O blower of the reed flute, from whom did this blowing come?
From itself, or from the Blower of exalted rank?
واللهand God نافخْa blower ترىyou see أمor أنتyou هذاthis الآنْnow
والله نافخْ ترى أم أنت هذا الآنْ
كالبرقlike lightning يلمعْit flashes ويفنىand vanishes أيهاO الإنسانْhuman being
كالبرق يلمعْ ويفنى أيها الإنسانْ
And is God the blower, do you think, or are you, at this moment?
Like lightning that flashes and vanishes, O human being.
