يا حسن مطلع من أهوى بذي سلم

براعة الشوق في استهلالها المي

O Hassan whose appearance I fell in love with in Salma's abode

With the eloquence of yearning in its beginning is amazing

قلب تركب من اوصابه ولقد

أوصى به الصبر يوم البين للعدم

A heart that is composed of its fragments and indeed

Patience commanded it the day of separation to nothingness

وما تعدى بتلفيق السلو على

قوم بهم مات عدا يوم بينهم

And blame did not exceed fabricated consolation upon

A people with whom life itself died except the day between them

جسمي هو المعنوي الآن من كمد

وخاطري صار من همّ ومن سقم

My body is now the spiritual from anxiety

And my thoughts have become from worries and from illness

صب يطرفه يوم النوى وصب

دمع تذيله الذكرى بهطل دم

Pour trouble that is moistened by the day of intention and pour

A tear that memory trails with a downpour of blood

يا قلب هم وعن السلوان مه فعسى

يصير لاحق وجدي ساحق النقم

O heart, worry and forget about consolation so perhaps

What comes later becomes crushing vengeance

أخبار أحبار عذالي مصحفة

وكل منهم عن التحريف كل فم

News of my tormentors falsified

And each of them, about distortion, all mouths

أطلقت فيهم لسان الذم فانطلقوا

وظل لفظي وضل الصدق من كملي

I unleashed upon them the tongue of blame so they departed

And my words remained and truthfulness from my integrity strayed

ان تم لي السعد لم أسمع ملامتهم

يا سعداني عن العذال في صمم

If fortune is complete for me I will not hear their blame

O my good fortune, ignore my torment in deafness

هجوت في معرض المدح العذول فلم

يغتظ وذا طبعه ان بالهوان رمى

I satirized the tormentors extravagantly so they were not

Upset and that is his nature - with disgrace he threw

ويح المتيم كم رد البعادله

عجزا على الصدر من فرط الغرام كم

Woe to the lover! How much the estranged ones returned to him

Out of inability upon the chest from the intensity of passion how much

يا عاذلي أنت معذور بلومك لي

اني تنزهت عن أوصافك العقم

O you who blame me, you are excused for blaming me

I sought refuge from your barren traits

ذمي بمشبه مدحي فيك أكد

ان لا تقى لك غير الغش والتهم

Blame me with what resembles my praise of you to confirm

That you have no chastity other than deception and accusation

كم ذا التهكم لا أسلو عساك بما

تقول توجدني من عالم العدم

How much of this mockery! I wish you with what

You say you will find me from the world of nonexistence

فهمت تفسير ما تبدى موارية

وأنت عقلا أجل الناس كلهم

I understood the interpretation of what you reveal bashfully

And you are the wisest person of all people

عكس البليغ بليغ العكس في عذلي

يا عاذلي فدع التبديل في الكلم

The eloquence of opposite by opposite in my torment

O you who torment me, so let go of changing words

ان استعارة قلبي في الهوى حرقت

ثوب السلو فعشقي ثابت القدم

If my heart’s love on fire burnt

The garb of consolation so my passion is firmly rooted

واللف والنشر في صبري وفي شغفي

والحمل والحفظ للهجران والذمم

And neither wearing out nor publicizing my patience or my fervor

And carrying and keeping the estrangement and the blame

بان اصطباري وقد يثنيه ساكنه

تيها فيستخدم الاقمار في الظلم

My patience manifested and it may be weakened by its resident

Lost in the darkness thus using the moons in the darkness

والبين تسهيمه في مهجتي ولقد

فقدت صبري به من شدة الالم

And the separation overwhelmed my internal organs and indeed

I lost my patience with it from the intensity of the pain

يا مقتني ذممي ما نعتني بدمي

جزيتني فظمي قلبي السني وفمي

O you who blame me for my sins what attributed me with my blood

You have rewarded me so include my ancient heart and my mouth

منعت نومي وعيني بالدموع سخت

فطابق الجفن بين البخل والكرم

I deprived my sleep and my eyes with tears I exhausted

So the eyelids equally distributed between stinginess and generosity

بنسمة قنع المشتاق ينشقها

من نحو أرضك وهنا واكتفى بشم

With a breeze the longing one sufficed which he

Sliced from near your land, here, and he was content with its scent

وحرمة الود مالي عن هواك غني

وحرمة الود حسبي منك في مسمى

And the sanctity of love prevents me from your love, enriched

And the sanctity of love is enough for me from you in designation

أودعت قلبي تباريح الغرام وقد

مزجت دمعا جرى من مقلة بدم

I deposited in my heart the feathers of passion and indeed

I blended a tear that flowed from the tear duct with blood

وجثتي أبهمتها صبوة عظمت

يا ليت أحداهما في حيز العدم

And my carcass, worries made it abstruse

Oh, if only one of them was in the realm of nonexistence

ذا من تجاهل حب جل عارفه

أم عجل الله لي حظى من الضرم

The one who ignored the love of the most knowledgeable of it

Is it haste from God that blessed me with companionship

حيث التفاتي أرى طيفا يواجهني

كم ذا أعانيك اني منك في ألم

Wherever I turn I see a specter facing me

How much this pains me that I am in pain because of you

نوادر الشوق يوم البين أوردها

لسان دمعي ولم ينطق لسان فمي

Rarities of longing the day of separation, my tear's tongue authored it and my mouth's tongue did not speak

To whom shall I blame, o self, and woe to you! What

لمن أعاتب ياذا النفس ويحك ما

أجدى التجلد هذا يوم بينهم

Use is perseverance, this is the day of separation between them

The flowing of tears manifested, so it became

در الدموع بدا تسميطه فغدا

يا لبين عقد ردى في جيد حبهم

Oh separation, a knot of misery in the best of their love

My heart is the messenger in legislating the religion of love to those

تشريع دين الهوى قلبي الرسول به

لمن براه النوى أيام هجرهم

Whose intention the soul revealed during their abandonment

And patience is nonexistent and the heart is in pain

والصبر في عدم والقلب في ألم

والطير لم يتم بالسجع في النعم

And the birds did not perfect with harmony in blessing

Surrendering my heart to them, if they operate with it

تسليم قلبي لهم لو يعملون به

اذا لجادوا على ضعفي بوصلهم

They would be generous to my weakness with their connection

The head of the tormentor, the hand of disconnection - how much they clashed

رأس العذول يد الاعراض كم صقعت

هزلا اذا ما أراد الجد بالكلم

Foolishly when it intended seriousness with speech

I weave blame, wow your cheek, untie extend stare continue shed blood

أنسج ملامك فوف وش سل اعن

كرر ترنم أعدا بسط أطل أدم

I confirm my praise with resemblance of blame, I do not see

Anything but chastity and anything but keeping promises

أكدت مدحي بشبه الذم لست أرى

الا العفاف والا الحفظ للذمم

My patience has vanished and they did not restore it and indeed

I was blessed with their love but with their abandonment

صبري اضمحل ولم يستدركوه وقد

حظيت في حبهم لكن بهجرهم

And my state in sending aloofness has become an example

Among people - there is no pain for the wound of the dead

وصار حالي بارسال الجفا مثلا

في الناس ليس لجرح الميت من ألم

I loved until we harvested them and their coldness

So I do not differ what they want

أحب حتى نجنيهم وجفوتهم

فلا أغاير شياص مرادهم

So does my heart contradict, o my heart, the covenants yes

If I perish and the soul drinks unto nonexistence

فهل تناقض يا قلبي العهود نعم

اذا فنيت وسقت الروح للعدم

The soldiers of love, when patience witnessed them

It regarded my equal with the war of separation that did not stand

عساكر الحب لما الصبر شاهدها

راعت نظيري بحرب البين لم يقم

I said release the heart, they said how much we retreated

From it so I said be gentle, they said so do not accuse

قلت اطلقوا القلب قالوا كم تراجعنا

عنه فقلت ارفقوا قالوا فلاتهم

And my patience passed and my state is to perish, anguish

From between them, they poured on it for their vengeance

ومر صبري وحالي للهلاك أسى

من بينهم رشحوه في انتقامهم

And the words of whoever has no purpose in love necessitating

That I consoled yes from love other than theirs

وقول من لا منى في الحب موجبه

اني سلوت نعم عن حب غيرهم

Whoever does not find in inclusive speech a moral lesson

Then there is no benefit in singular speech for him

من لم يجد بكلام جامع عظة

فليس بنفع فيه مفرد الكلم

Leave the blame from my heart because within it

Are steps I fear regarding which is the reward of blood

دع الملامة عن قلبي فان به

مدارجا أهيف فيها أجر أدم

I face death from my longing to it and indeed

My life has turned and consolation is not of my traits

أقابل الموت من شوقي اليه وقد

ولت حياتي وما السلوان من شيمي

It has the treasuries of my secrets which I direct

And it is my trial and the highest of my aspirations

له ذخائر اسراري أوجهها

وهو اختباري وأعلى مبتغى هممي

When we passed by the eyelids of the most creative of them

The arrows of love struck deeply and made me suffer

لمارنا بجفون جل مبدعها

رمى سهام منون آموا وألمى

The lover would have melted were it not for the beauty of his loyalty

In praising the best of creations, the master of nations

ذاب المتيم لولا حسن مخلصه

بمدح خير البرايا سيد الامم

Mohammed the chosen, the selected, expeller

Of traits, Taha son of Abdullah the generous

محمد المصطفى المختار مطرد

الاوصاف طه بن عبد الله ذي الكرم

They compared his signs to the sun so they differed

بالشمس ان شبهوا آياته افترقت

تنمو شروقا وتخفى الشمس في الظلم

Prides I forgot protected and consciousness

Influences you produced intensity of infallibility

مفاخر ناسيتها محفة وتقى

مآثر أنتجنها شدة العصم

And he is the intercessor and for the soul the intercessor and in merit

وهو الشفيع وللروح الشفيع وفي الفضل

الشفيع له الترديد في النعم

آياته وشعت دين الهدى ومحت

والعزم والحزم والاحسان شيمته

And he split but for the fulfiller of certainty, understanding

سطيح ما قاله عنوان بعثته

وشق لكن لدى وافى الجحا فهم

About the prophets, his superiority does not hide

In merit and his perfection among their whole group

على النبيين لاتخفى زيادته

فضلا وتكميله من بين جمعهم

The innuendo in words is a miracle

Of vast skill, cowardice of the dog from generosity

محض الكناية في الاقوال معجزة

رحب النجاد جبان الكلب من كرم

And no reconsidering what he intends yes

He has reconsidering and what is between the enemies lies

ولا رجوع له عما يروم نعم

له رجوع وما بين العداة كمى

Who resembles him who emulates him

And God created him in the best traits

من ذا يشابهه من ذا يماثله

والله أبدعه في أحسن الشيم

If not for him how much human would have proclaimed

With the doctrine of the words of infidels blind

لولاه كم بشر عما يحاوله

بمذهب من كلام الكافرين عمى

He takes the horses on the day of calamity so he surpasses

The enemy the preceding of sword to sharpness

يستطرد الصافنات الجرد يوم وغى

فيسبق القرم سبق السيف للغمم

And he gathered harmonious description and different

To messengers, paths, and this most mighty

وجمع مؤتلف وصفا ومختلف

للرسل طرا وهذا زئد العظم

He has protection from enemies without fear

Sheer bestowal he hopes and does not tire

له احتراس من الاعدا بلا رهب

محض النوال يلامن ولا سأم

His morals refined with cultivation have been described

And he is the one who came with cultivation for the orphan

اخلاقه الغر بالتهذيب قد وصفت

وهو الذي جاء بالتأديب في اليتم

Laying out what he said is proof of his mission

And he split but for the fulfiller at real certainty, understanding

تشبيه شيتين بالشيتين ملته

محت دجا الشرك محو النور للظلم

For him is the wisdom of forbearance in our consciences

Annoying it if we read and the pen

وهو الحبيب الذي يوم الحساب غدا

ولا اعتراض ينجينا من الضرم

And the collection became with division his trait

In that delegation and that with the sheep and the sheep

تعلمت راحتاه عند كرته

حذف العدا لفم الصمصامة الخذم

His traits do not enumerate confinement

Like justice, patience, favors, and infallibility

وماتت القوم توهيما وقد سمعوا

به فصاروا من الاحياء في رجم

حاوى الشرائع بل ضرغام أولها

في الحرب يوم اشتقاق الغدغم الخصم

والحزم كالسيف في جمع العداة ردى

والعزم كالسيف في التقريق للقمم

I repeat my praise in the most high, son

باتت أعاديه حتى لا اتساع لهم

في الارض بل سقطوا في قبضة العدم

Whoever's words became harmonious with my words

Even the meanings obeyed me without tiredness

وان يروا آية لا يؤمنون بها

لهم بذاك اقتباس من أصولهم

If I said like the full moon in comparing his emergence

I saw his glory so I asked to be excused from my inability

ان الجمادات خير من ذوي خطر

في قصة الجذع تلميح بجهلهم

My thought and its embroidering for praise is smiling

In a smiling face, in a smiling face

أوحى له الله ما أوحى وزاد فكم

أبدت اشارته للبدر من حكم

And praise is its jewel that my lacking hides

With truth its return reveals the bird of my mouth

له سيجية حلم في خواطرنا

تنكيتها ان قرأنا والقلم

Its words with their meanings have harmonized

Like a necklace of pearls upon necks, organized

والجمع صار مع التقسيم شيمته

في الوفد ذاك وذا في الشاء والغنم

Meaning with collecting it the antecedent attached

Enclosing meanings and the essence of the world of soul

جات مزاياه عن مدحي فصرت اذا

رمت الغلو أراها عنه في شعم

He equaled the humans in descriptions of their creation

And surpassed them in supreme merit and infallibility

لا تقى شيء من الاكرام عادته

ولا بايجابه للخير في سأم

His generosity with agreed praise married it

To Aisha in creation and miserliness to nonexistence

حسن بمنطقه والثغر ذو نسق

والطيب نكهته والكف كالديم

Shepherd of moths so the clothing of fear and their stinginess

And positivity did not touch them the day of commotion, how little!

ماجت بحور نضار في أنامله

فكاد يغرق راجيه من الكرم

I did not exclude a support for myself from the humans

Except the prophet’s progeny, the messenger of God the Almighty

بالامس واليوم ترتيب المديح وفي

غدو ما بعده يشدو بذاك فمي

If I was narrow of circumstance one day so my skin peeled off

I partnered in it my praise so my pain disappeared

صفاته الغرلا تعديد يحصرها

كالعدل والحلم والافضال والعصم

In describing him the beautiful harmonious word is attached to pleasant composition so how does the mind not worry

His family the guiding leaders from the creation of

نعم لنا الله أهدى قبله نعما

لكن به حل لتتميم للنعم

The unique glories of glory in the brevity of their honesty

The meaning of consciousness with the meaning of merit is attached

ومن تخيره يوم الحساب غدا

مع الجرائم نجاه من الضرم

To them and my praise and my love o harmonious

مدحي أكرره في العالي الهمم ابن

فكري وتطريزه للمدح مبتسم

في وجه مبتسم في وجه مبتسم

A reward and from praising the noble there did not gather

And all of God's sanctities whoever magnified them

والمدح ترصيعه يخفيه غير كمي

بالصدح ترجيعه يبديه طير فمي

It is better so inten the intentions and fasten

Praise be to God honor of the day Lord of consciousness

الفاظه بمعانيها قد ائتلفت

كعقد در على اللبات منتظم

In the worlds for him gesturing their praise

And love of the masters subsequent to him

معنى بجزيه الكى ملتحق

حصر المعاني وذات عالم النسم

Who secured his religion fortifying their honor

Frowns of blades with the enemies when gathered

ساوى البرية في أوصاف خلقتهم

وفاقهم في العلا والفضل والعصم

And for the sword with them correcting blamed

For them shone the religion’s suns radiating

هباته باتفاق المدح زوجته

في الخلق عائشة والبخل في عدم

So they penetrated toward it absolute penetration of defeated

The people of decapitation and loyal to promises

راع الكماة فثوب الخوف وشحهم

ولم يلح منهم يوم الهياج كمي

Killers of enemies in every crowdedness

Their swords under clouds of fighting flashing

لكل قوم ترى فيه مشاكلة

فان يجور وايجر فعل كفعلهم

They rained a rain from resolutions harmonious

How they split with the swords torsos

دخوله البيت بالتقسيم جزأه

لله والنفس والاهلين والرحم

Where the enemy with them flesh upon flesh

How much dealings the brave with which they sold

من رام في مدحه يبدي مبالغة

عليه في الدهر ضاقت ساحة الكلم

Interpreting what they composed on the day of war with them

In their praise, my reasoning is beautiful because for it

معنى الكمال بوزن العقل مؤتلف

فيه وفرط التقى بالجود والكرم

Is a sweetness I did not make its taste sweet with my mouth

They explained to the enemy the meaning of misery frightened

وحلمه المحض في الدارين راع به

أولى العناد افتنانا في دمارهم

With swords and Indian swords they snatched

The enemies’ zeal shared when warring them

من البرية ما استثنيت لي سندا

الاجناب رسول الله ذي العظم

They won and they followed the prophet’s guidance as my beautiful

Following of them, winning from harm

ان ضاق بي الحال يوما فانتفى جلدي

زاوجت فيه مديحي فانتفى ألمي

My master, O messenger of God, O my support

Hardships have converged upon my illness

في وصفه ائتلف اللفظ المنيف مع الوزن

اللطيف فكيف العقل لم يهم

And hope of all purpose has been stripped from me

Except from you and confidence in your generosity

وآله القادة الهادون من نظمت

فرائد المجد في تقصار صدحهم

O you who when the complaint of your presence

Someone needing hastened, protectiveness of pride warmed

معنى التقى مع معنى الفضل مؤتلف

فيهم ومدحي وحبي أي ملتئم

And we called upon him for inspiration if

The matter, its details, all from it my mouth is silent

لما سمعت بهم طالوا نهضت الى

ايجاز مستبرك بالمدح مغتنم

With your praise our values rose in nobility

And praise I choreographed bringer of glory

هم المجاز الى دار الجنان وهم

موت الضلال واحياء الهدى العمم

And I cannot spawn his birth, I cannot confine it

Even if I made all of me the location of speech

ما الدوح تنفث بالتقريع نفحته

مع النسيم يا ذكي من صفاتهم

My life resembling edges so if I throw

I throw trying and if I hope so to nonexistence

اطلت تذييل مدحي واغتنمت به

أجرا ومن مدح الاشراف لم يضم

Necessity of what the glory requires from my trait

And nature does not necessitate the vile price

وكل من حرمات الله عظمها

خير له فاعقد النيات تمثم

What harm if this world forever has its kindness fail

What harm if its days reward my life

الحمد لله عز اليوم رب تقى

في العالمين له تلويح مدحهم

You have eloquence that suffices people from seeking

Knowledge for you are the wisest of all people

وحبة السادة المستتبعين له

من حصنوا دينه تحصين عرضهم

I hope for visitation before death and in

Eloquence my praise better composed

عوابس النصل بالاعدا اذا اجتمعوا

وللسنا عندهم تصحيح مغترم

Maybe from a glance my luck allows me

One day so I delight with it in that sanctuary

لهم تبدت شموس الدين ساطعة

فاوغلوا نحوه ايغال منهزم

O Lord hurry with the intercession of the chosen one to relieve me

And make easy the matter and save me from sorrows

أهل الجلادة والموفون بالذمم

مصرعون العدا في كل مزدحم

I extended the palm of hope praying pleading

And I still stand firm my lifetime upon my feet

سيوفهم تحت غيم النقع بارقة

جادت بغيث من الهامات منسجم

Abdul Ghani the darkness has erased its ink

The stars testify in composing this speech

كم شطروا بالقنا يوم الوغى بدنا

حيث العدا بهم لحم على وضم

So grant for him from You forgiveness he gains from it

And good conclusion and finds from You blessings

من كل ذي طاعة لله يتبعها

عصيان نفس بما تهواه لم تلم

لهم سلامة مدح لا اختراع به

لانه شائع في العرب والعجم

همو اليوم الوغى بل أضربوا عظما

عن العدا بل نسوا كرات كل كمى

بحردوا من حبيك الزغف في لجج

أزد الشرى من قنا الخطى في أجم

سمر الرماح به والبيض قد ألفت

سودا الوقائع حتى دبجت بدم

كم صفقة ريحت باعوا الكماة بها

تحل ما ألغزوه يوم حر بهم

بمدحهم حسن تعليلي لأن له

حلاوة ما أحيلى طعمها بفمي

قد فسروا للعدا معنى الردى رهبا

بالسمهرية والصمصامة الخذم

وأغمدوا البيض في حشو الدروع وغي

وأردفوها مكان السمع والصمم

حظى المعمى رأي فضلا فاطمعه

حتى تلاحى وقد طال المدى بهم

وما سلكت بتعريض المديح لهم

سبل القشدق والاعجاب بالكلم

من العدا طهروا الدنيا لتورية

والبيض صلت على الهامات والقمم

وبالقنا أوضحوا معنى النجاح لنا

لما أبادوا من الاعداء كل كمى

وبالسيوف سيوف الهند قد خطفوا

هام الكماة اشتراكا يوم حربهم

فازوا وقد تبعوا هدى النبي كما

حسن اتباعي لهم فوز من الضرم

يا سيدي يا رسول الله يا سندي

لقد تواردت البلوى على سقمي

وقد سلبت رجا ايجاب كل منى

عمن سواك وثوقا منك بالكرم

يا من اذا ادمج الشكوى لحضرته

ذو حاجة أعجلتها حمية الشمم

ومن دعوناه للجلى اذا طرقت

والامر تفصيله قد كل عنه فمى

بمدحك ارتفعت اقدارنا شرفا

والمدح قد أرخوه جالب العظم

وليس توليده أسطيع أحصره

ولو جعلت جميعي موضع الكلم

عمري تشابه أطرافا فان أرم

أرم محاولا وان أرجو فللعدم

لزوم ما يقتضيه المجد عن شيمي

والطبع لا يلزم المسترخص القيم

ما ضر ذا الدهر لو أبدا تعطفه

ما ضر ايامه لو أجزات قسمي

براعة لك تغنى الناس عن طلب

علما بانك أذكى الناس كلهم

أرجو الزيارة من قبل الممات وفي

حسن البيان مديحي خير منتظم

لعل من لمحة حظي يمكنني

يوما فأهنا بها في ذلك الحرم

يا رب عجل بجاه المصطفى فرجي

وسهل الامر وانقذني من الغمم

بسطت كف الرجا أدعوك مبتهلا

ولم أزل ثابتا دهري على قدمي

عبد الغني لقد أفنى الدجى مهرا

يستشهد النجم في تنميق ذي الكلم

فهب له منك عفوا يستفيد به

حسن الختام ويحظى منك بالنعم
