    The people of love dwell in everlasting joy;

they do not grieve, not even at a censurer's blame.

desires that the souls of beasts adore.

In this world they have delighted in that,

and likewise in the next, like a circling bird.

who breathes into them—for the gaining of spoils.

And the bliss of the unveiled is beholding the countenance of the

Beloved in the beautiful, enduring face.

It is their portion in both lives, from the One

they loved with a pure, fasting heart.

in dusky-lipped smiles and the suppleness of limbs

the moon at its fullest, encircled with amulets.
