أقبل ودع عنك الكسلْ

وكن الذباب على العسلْ

Come forward and cast off laziness.

Come and leave laziness behind

And be a fly upon the honey.

Be like a bee drawn to honey

وإذا طردت فعد إلى

ما كنت تطلبه وسل

ما كنت تطلبه وسل

And when you are driven away, return to

And if you are driven away, return

what you were seeking, and ask.

To what you were seeking, and be smooth

واعلم بأنك قاتل

واعلم بأنك قاتل

فالنصل في طول الأسل

فالنصل في طول الأسل

And know that you are a slayer,

Know that you are a slayer

for the blade lies in the length of the spears.

The sword amongst chains is long

والحب يخرج مثله

والحب يخرج مثله

والبزر أشجاراً نسل

والبزر أشجاراً نسل

And grain brings forth its like,

And love comes out the same

and the seed has begotten trees.

As trees generate seeds

ومتى تركت تركت لا

ومتى تركت تركت لا

طهر الإناء ولا انغسل

طهر الإناء ولا انغسل

And whenever you give up, you are abandoned; neither

And when you leave, you leave not

does the vessel become clean nor get washed.

To purify the vessel, nor bathe
