إن رمت أن تدرك كل المنى

إن رمت أن تدرك كل المنى

وتنجلي عنك غواشي العنا

وتنجلي عنك غواشي العنا

If you seek to attain all your wishes,

And have the veils of hardship lift from you,

فارض وكن بالله مستيقنا

فارض وكن بالله مستيقنا

يا أيها الراضي بأحكامنا

يا أيها الراضي بأحكامنا

Then be content, and have certainty in God.

O you who are content with Our decrees,

لا بد أن تحمد عقبى الرضى

لا بد أن تحمد عقبى الرضى

ولا تخض في أمر رب السما

ولا تخض في أمر رب السما

You will surely praise the outcome of contentment.

And do not delve into the affairs of the Lord of heaven;

تبق كذا منطرحاً في العما

تبق كذا منطرحاً في العما

وإن أردت الهم أن يعدما

وإن أردت الهم أن يعدما

Remain thus, prostrate in obscurity.

And if you wish anxiety to vanish,

فوض إلينا وابق مستسلما

فوض إلينا وابق مستسلما

فالراحة العظمى لمن فوضا

فالراحة العظمى لمن فوضا

Entrust your affairs to Us, and remain surrendered.

For the greatest repose belongs to whoever entrusts his affairs.

صبر الفتى يلجى لمطلوبه

صبر الفتى يلجى لمطلوبه

كيوسف الدينا ويعقوبه

كيوسف الدينا ويعقوبه

A young man's patience brings him to what he seeks,

Like this world's Joseph and his Jacob.

واشرب صفا التحقيق من كوبه

واشرب صفا التحقيق من كوبه

لا ينعم المرء بمحبوبه

لا ينعم المرء بمحبوبه

And drink the pure essence of realization from its cup.

A man finds no delight in his beloved

حتى يرى الخيرة فيما قضى

حتى يرى الخيرة فيما قضى

Until he sees the best in what He has decreed.
