كلانا له هذا الوجود المحققُّ

كلانا له هذا الوجود المحققُّ

هو الأحد الفرد الذي هو مطلقُ

هو الأحد الفرد الذي هو مطلقُ

Both of us possess this actual existence.

We both exist in this realized being

He is the One, the Unique, who is absolute.

He is the One, the Unique, the Absolute

فطوراً هو الباري بدا حيث لا سوى

فطوراً هو الباري بدا حيث لا سوى

وطوراً لنا يبدو سواه ويخلق

وطوراً لنا يبدو سواه ويخلق

So at times He, the Creator, appeared where there was no other.

At first He is the Creator where there is nothing but Him

And at times what is other than Him appears to us and is created.

And then to us He appears other and creates

فربٌّ ولا عبدٌ إذا العبد لم يكن

فربٌّ ولا عبدٌ إذا العبد لم يكن

وعبد ولا رب به الغيب ملحق

وعبد ولا رب به الغيب ملحق

So there is a Lord and no servant when the servant does not exist.

So neither Lord nor servant when the servant does not exist

And a servant and no Lord; the unseen is linked to him.

And servant without Lord, with Him enclosed in mystery

وليس هما باثنين ندريهما معاً

وليس هما باثنين ندريهما معاً

كما عند ذي جهل بذلك ينطق

كما عند ذي جهل بذلك ينطق

Nor are they two beings that we know together,

And they are not two that we know them together

As one ignorant of this declares.

As is said by one ignorant when he speaks

فإن الذي تلقى هو الرب وحده

فإن الذي تلقى هو الرب وحده

له الذات والأسماء وهو المحقق

له الذات والأسماء وهو المحقق

For indeed, the one you encounter is the Lord alone.

For He who received is the Lord alone

His are the Essence and the Names, and He is the truly existent.

To Him belong the essence, the names, He is the Real

وأنت السعيد المسلم المؤمن الذي

وأنت السعيد المسلم المؤمن الذي

لك الدين يا هذا وأنت الموفق

لك الدين يا هذا وأنت الموفق

And you are the blessed Muslim, the believer,

And you are the fortunate, submissive, faithful believer whom

To whom the faith belongs, O you, and you are granted success.

To you belongs faith, O you who are granted success

وإما هو العبد الذي عنه غائب

وإما هو العبد الذي عنه غائب

به ربه ينفي له أو يصدّق

به ربه ينفي له أو يصدّق

Or else it is the servant, from whom is hidden

Or else He is the servant from whom He is absent

His Lord within him; he denies Him or believes in Him.

With Him his Lord denies or affirms him

وذلك حال الغافلين أولي الشقا

وذلك حال الغافلين أولي الشقا

وليس لهم عهد يدوم وموثق

وليس لهم عهد يدوم وموثق

And that is the state of the heedless, the wretched.

And that is the state of the heedless, foremost in misery

And they have no lasting covenant, nor any binding pledge.

And for them there is no enduring covenant and pact

تبارك مولى واحدٌ وعبيده

تبارك مولى واحدٌ وعبيده

كثيرون والمولى الكثير المفرّق

كثيرون والمولى الكثير المفرّق

Blessed is the one Master, and His servants

Blessed is the One Master and His servants are many

Are many; and the Master is manifold and dispersed.

And the Master is the Many, the Separator

كما قال لن تحصوه في كلماته

كما قال لن تحصوه في كلماته

فتاب عليكم فاقرأوا ما يحقق

فتاب عليكم فاقرأوا ما يحقق

As He said in His words: 'You will not enumerate Him,'

As He said, "You cannot enumerate Him in words"

So He turned to you in mercy; recite, then, what brings certainty.

So repent to Him, and read what makes real
