ياO منyou who يريدwish يحبto love اللهGod بالتحقيقin truth
يا من يريد يحب الله بالتحقيق
عقلكyour intellect مصورan image-maker وقانعand content أنتyou بالتخليقwith fashioning
عقلك مصور وقانع أنت بالتخليق
O you who wish to love God in truth,
Your intellect fashions images, and you are content with that fashioning.
واللهand God فيin الغيبthe unseen مطلقunbounded ماno لهfor Him تضييقrestriction
والله في الغيب مطلق ما له تضييق
وكلand every ممنوعforbidden thing نحوهtoward it العقلthe intellect ذوpossessing التشويقthe stirring of longing
وكل ممنوع نحوه العقل ذو التشويق
And God is unbounded in the unseen; no restriction applies to Him.
And toward everything forbidden, the intellect is stirred to longing.
