لكلfor all الورىcreation عنto وجهكمyour face أعينٌeyes طمسُblind
لكل الورى عن وجهكم أعينٌ طمسُ
وألسنةٌand tongues إنif كلمتthey address غيركمanyone but you خرسُmute
وألسنةٌ إن كلمت غيركم خرسُ
All creation’s eyes are blind to your face.
The world has eyes blinded to all but your face,
And tongues, if they address anyone but you, are mute.
And tongues struck dumb unless speaking your praise.
وأنتمand you are جميعall الكائناتbeings بأسرهاin their entirety
وأنتم جميع الكائنات بأسرها
وفيand among الكائناتbeings العربthe Arabs والعجمand the non-Arabs والفرسand the Persians
وفي الكائنات العرب والعجم والفرس
And you are all beings in their entirety.
You are all creatures embodied together,
And among those beings are Arabs, non-Arabs, and Persians.
Arabs and foreigners and Persians blended.
وحقand by the sanctity of هواكمlove for you ماnot أنستI found comfort بغيركمwith anyone but you
وحق هواكم ما أنست بغيركم
ومنand who غيركمbesides you حتىso that بهwith him يحصلis found الأنسcomfort
ومن غيركم حتى به يحصل الأنس
And by the sanctity of my love for you, I have found comfort with none but you.
True, my passion forgot all but you.
And who is there besides you with whom comfort could be found?
Without you, could I ever know joy or comfort?
