Movements and states of rest—

all of them are renewals.

They arose from my Lord's command,

so life flowed through them.

إنها خلق وأمر

إنها خلق وأمر

وصفات وذوات

Indeed, they are creation and command,

and attributes and essences,

ووجود خالص قد

ووجود خالص قد

لونته الفانيات

لونته الفانيات

and pure existence, which has been

colored by transient things.

مثل لمح البصر الكل

مثل لمح البصر الكل

ل وهن الكائنات

ل وهن الكائنات

All is like the blink of an eye,

and they are created beings.

أي هذا الحجر الجا

مد والأرض الموات

O you, this inanimate stone,

and the lifeless earth,

قم تجدد واكشف الأم

قم تجدد واكشف الأم

ر لتأتيك الهبات

ر لتأتيك الهبات

rise, renew yourself, and unveil the matter,

so that gifts may come to you.

وانظر البرق لموعاً

وانظر البرق لموعاً

ماله عنك فوات

ماله عنك فوات

And behold the lightning flashing;

it never eludes you.

إنه أنت إذا كا

It is you, whenever

your attention turns toward it.

كل شيء غير وجه ال

Everything other than the face of

God is perishing and crumbling to dust.

وهي لولاها لما كا

And they—were it not for them, He would

never have any permanence.

So the cosmos's existence is the utterance of

God: 'Be'; they are words.

فهي كن لا غيرها قا

فهي كن لا غيرها قا

م بها القوم الثقات

Thus they are 'Be,' nothing else; there arose

through them the trustworthy folk,

يعبدون الله سراً

يعبدون الله سراً

وجهاراً ثم ماتوا

وجهاراً ثم ماتوا

worshipping God in secret

and openly; then they died.

إن عرفتم غير هذا ال

حق يا قوم فهاتوا

حق يا قوم فهاتوا

If you know anything other than this

Truth, O people, then bring it forth.
