ليس الوجود كما يقال اثنانِ

ليس الوجود كما يقال اثنانِ

حق وخلق إذ هما شيئانِ

حق وخلق إذ هما شيئانِ

Existence is not, as people say, two—

Existence is not as they say two

The Real and creation, since these are two things.

Truth and creation as they are two things

هذا المقال عليه قبح عقيدة

هذا المقال عليه قبح عقيدة

عند المحقق ظاهر البطلان

عند المحقق ظاهر البطلان

This assertion bears the ugliness of a belief

This saying, its creed is ugly

Whose falsehood is plain to the discerning knower.

To the investigator, its falsehood is evident

ولد الإله بها النصارى قولهم

ولد الإله بها النصارى قولهم

والكذب جاء بذاك في القرآن

والكذب جاء بذاك في القرآن

Through it, the Christians claim: “God was begotten.”

The Christians were born by their saying of God

And the falsehood of that is stated in the Qur’an.

And falsehood came with that in the Qur'an

والله لم يولد فواعجباً لمن

والله لم يولد فواعجباً لمن

قالوا الوجود بعقلهم قسمان

قالوا الوجود بعقلهم قسمان

And God was not begotten—so how astonishing are those

And Allah was not born, so strange is he who

Who said, by their reasoning, that existence has two divisions.

قالوا وجود حادث هذا وفي

غيب الغيوب وجودُ حق ثاني

They said: “This is a newly originated existence, and in

ياليت شعري ذا وجودٌ حادثٌ

ياليت شعري ذا وجودٌ حادثٌ

من أين جاء لهذه الأعيان

من أين جاء لهذه الأعيان

If only I knew: this newly originated existence—

I wish I knew, this existent occurrence

From where did it come to these entities?

From where did it come for these entities

من ربها والرب لم يولد ولم

من ربها والرب لم يولد ولم

يخرج وجود منه للأكوان

يخرج وجود منه للأكوان

From their Lord? Yet the Lord was not begotten, nor

From its Lord and the Lord was not born and did not

Did any existence issue from Him into the worlds.

Emerge existence from Him for the worlds

أو جاء من عدم وليس يجيء من

أو جاء من عدم وليس يجيء من

عدم وجود إذ هما ضدان

عدم وجود إذ هما ضدان

Or did it come from nonexistence? Yet there does not arise from

Or came from non-existence and does not come from

Nonexistence any existence, since the two are opposites.

Non-existence existence as they are two adversaries

والضد ليس يجيء منه ضده

والضد ليس يجيء منه ضده

أبداً وما الضدان يجتمعان

أبداً وما الضدان يجتمعان

And from an opposite its opposite does not arise,

And the adversary does not come from it its adversary

Ever; nor do the two opposites come together.

Ever and the two adversaries do not come together

بل إنما هذا وجود واحد

بل إنما هذا وجود واحد

وبنا يلوح وكل شيء فاني

وبنا يلوح وكل شيء فاني

Rather, this is but one existence,

Rather, this is one existence

And through us it shines forth, while everything passes away.

And by building it hints and everything is vanishing
