    تشرف على أبناء جنسِكْ

    Rise through your Lord, not through yourself;

You will be exalted above the sons of your kind.

For all is you, and you are He,

And the 'He' will tomorrow be a celestial sphere for your sun.

So how long will you remain thus,

O dead one, in the darkness of your grave?

Nothing appears that is hidden from

Your eyes until after your effacement.

And by the life of your holiness, you are within

'You,' the object of longing—and by the life of your holiness.

So lift the veil of all other than you from

Yourself, and strip off the robe of your conjecture.

    And welcome the breezes, if

They come to you from the breaths of your intimacy.

And when you appear and are

'You' without 'you,' through the goodness of your planting,

Then transmit your knowledge from yourself, not

From the one you address in your lesson.

    وعن السوى والغير أمسك

    And look to your essence, and wait;

And refrain from all else and otherness.

And read the writing of letters

That appeared upon the pages of your parchment.

And when you attain that which

You hold within, your today is above your yesterday.
