1. من كان بالعشق مفقودْ

    فذاك بالحق موجودْ

    Whoever is lost in love,

    that one exists in the Real.

  2. وذاك ميت وحي

    وشاهد وهو مشهود

    And that one is dead and alive,

    and a witness, while he is witnessed.

  3. وكل باب إلى الل

    ه غير ذاك فمسدود

    And every door to God,

    other than that one, is barred.

  4. واسمع حديثاً صحيحاً

    كالدر وافاك معقود

    And hear an authentic report,

    which has reached you like strung pearls.

  5. في مسند قد رواه

    للديلمي السادة القود

    In a Musnad it was transmitted—

    al-Daylami's—by the leading masters.

  6. يقول خير البرايا

    بحر العطيات والجود

    The best of creatures says,

    the ocean of gifts and generosity:

  7. عليكمو بالوجوه ال

    ملاح والحدق السود

    "Seek the faces that are

    fair, and the dark eyes."
