نحن أهل العلوم بالإلهامِ

نحن أهل العلوم بالإلهامِ

لا بفكر العقول والإرتسامِ

We are people of knowledge through inspiration,

We are the people of knowledge through inspiration,

not through intellectual reasoning or mental representation,

Not through the thinking of minds and mapping.

حيث إلهامنا تقيد فينا

حيث إلهامنا تقيد فينا

بمعاني شرائع الإسلام

بمعاني شرائع الإسلام

since our inspiration is constrained within us

Where our inspiration is instilled in us,

by the meanings of the laws of Islam.

With the meanings of the laws of Islam.

وإذا لم يقم عليه دليلٌ

وإذا لم يقم عليه دليلٌ

عندنا من حديث خير الأنام

عندنا من حديث خير الأنام

And if no proof of it is established

And if there is no evidence for it,

for us from the sayings of the best of humankind,

According to us from the Hadith of the best of creation.

أو كتاب الله القديم حكمنا

أو كتاب الله القديم حكمنا

أنه من وساوس الأوهام

أنه من وساوس الأوهام

or from God's eternal Book, we judge

Or the ancient book of Allah, we judge

that it is among the whisperings of delusion.

That it is from the delusions of illusions.

وتركنا قبوله وعدلنا

وتركنا قبوله وعدلنا

نحو إيماننا بصدق المقام

نحو إيماننا بصدق المقام

And we refuse to accept it and turn

toward our faith, with sincerity in our spiritual station.

Towards our faith in the sincerity of the position.

واتكلنا على الإله تعالى

واتكلنا على الإله تعالى

نطلب الفيض منه بالإنعام

And we rely upon God, exalted is He,

And we relied on Allah the Exalted,

seeking the outpouring from Him through His gracious giving.

Seeking grace from Him through favors.

ولدينا الإلهام حيث تأتَّى

ولدينا الإلهام حيث تأتَّى

بشهود النصوص للأفهام

بشهود النصوص للأفهام

And for us, when inspiration comes

And we have inspiration wherever it comes

with the scriptural texts attesting to what is understood,

With witnesses of texts for minds.

فهو أمر محقق ليس فيه

فهو أمر محقق ليس فيه

شبهة علم ربنا العلام

شبهة علم ربنا العلام

it is a verified matter, containing no

So it is a definitive matter in which there is no

doubt—the knowledge of our all-knowing Lord.

Doubt, our Lord knows everything.

نتلقاه بالقبول وإلا

نتلقاه بالقبول وإلا

فهو وسواس غفلة وتعامي

فهو وسواس غفلة وتعامي

We receive it with acceptance; otherwise,

We receive it with acceptance, otherwise

it is a whispering of heedlessness and willful blindness.

It is the illusion of heedlessness and negligence.

ولنا بالكتاب بالله فهم

ولنا بالكتاب بالله فهم

خص فيه الخواص دون العوام

خص فيه الخواص دون العوام

And through God we have an understanding of the Book,

And we understand from the book of Allah

in which He has singled out the elect, not the common people.

Every meaning that bewilders the sublime mind.

وحديث النبي نفهم منه

وحديث النبي نفهم منه

كلَّ معنى يحيِّرُ العقل سامي

كلَّ معنى يحيِّرُ العقل سامي

And from the Prophet's sayings we understand

Indeed this is from the grace of Allah, not from

every lofty meaning that bewilders the intellect.

The skill in the eloquent speech.

إن هذا من منة الله لا من

إن هذا من منة الله لا من

قوة الحذق في بليغ الكلام

قوة الحذق في بليغ الكلام

Indeed, this is from God's grace, not from

Where we are nothing and the truth is the truth,

the power of skill in eloquent speech.

None but Him and things are in non-existence.

حيث لا شيء نحن والحق حق

حيث لا شيء نحن والحق حق

لا سواه والشيء في الإعدام

لا سواه والشيء في الإعدام

For we are nothing, and the Real is real:

And He provides everyone from His generosity

none other than Him, while things are in nonexistence.

And existence, He is the light in the darkness.

ويمد الجميع منه بجود

ويمد الجميع منه بجود

ووجود هو الضيا في الظلام

ووجود هو الضيا في الظلام

And He sustains all with bounty from Himself

and existence, which is the radiance in the darkness.
