يفلقن لجة آله فأمامها

يفلقن لجة آله فأمامها

حادٍ وآخرُ خلفها لم يلحقِ

حادٍ وآخرُ خلفها لم يلحقِ

They cleave the depths of its mirage; ahead of them

It split the sea, a miracle of God,

is a camel-driver, and another behind them has not caught up.

With sharp waves ahead and behind unreached,

فكأن ذا موسى وذاك بإثره

فكأن ذا موسى وذاك بإثره

فرعونُ إلا أنه لم يغرقِ

فرعونُ إلا أنه لم يغرقِ

So it is as though this one were Moses, and that one in his wake

As if Moses here and Pharaoh in chase,

were Pharaoh—except that he did not drown.

Except he did not drown as told in script.
