شددتI strengthened بمحمودٍthrough Mahmud يداًa hand حينwhen خانهاbetrayed it
شددت بمحمودٍ يداً حين خانها
زمانٌan age لأسبابof the bonds of الرجاءhope قَطُوعُever severing
زمانٌ لأسباب الرجاء قَطُوعُ
I strengthened my hand through Mahmud when it was betrayed
When time betrayed it, with Mahmoud I strengthened a hand
By an age ever severing the bonds of hope.
For the causes of hope are forever severed
بنىhe built لمساعيfor the endeavors of الجودِgenerosity والمجدِand glory قُبَّةًa dome
بنى لمساعي الجودِ والمجدِ قُبَّةً
إليهاtoward it جميعُall الأجودينthe most generous ركوعُbowing
إليها جميعُ الأجودين ركوعُ
He built a dome for the endeavors of generosity and glory,
He built for the efforts of generosity and glory a dome
Toward which all the most generous bow.
To which all the generous bow down
