ومعممٍ لم يبقَ في جثمانه

إلا حشاشةُ مهجةٍ لم تزهقِ

And a turbaned one, in whose body nothing remained

Save a last flicker of life that had not departed.

Bent across his flanks, from his anguish,

She untied the turban on his head, and fragrance wafted

From his hair-partings, like the scent of lilies.
