وَلاقَيتُهُand had met him فيin البَيتِthe house يَقظانَawake حاذِراwary
وَلاقَيتُهُ في البَيتِ يَقظانَ حاذِرا
Oh, if only I had cut off a finger of mine,
Oh, if only I had cut off a branch from myself
And met him in the house, awake and wary.
And found him in the house awake, vigilant
