ياO خاتَمِseal النُبَآءِthe prophets إِنَّكَindeed you مُرسَلٌsent
يا خاتَمِ النُبَآءِ إِنَّكَ مُرسَلٌ
بِالحَقِّwith the truth كُلُّall هُدىguidance السَبيلِthe path هُداكاyour guidance
بِالحَقِّ كُلُّ هُدى السَبيلِ هُداكا
O Seal of the Prophets, you are indeed sent
O seal of the prophets, you are truly sent
with the truth; all guidance on the path is your guidance.
With the truth, all guidance is your guidance
إِنَّindeed الإِلَهَGod بَنىestablished عَلَيكَupon you مَحَبَّةًlove
إِنَّ الإِلَهَ بَنى عَلَيكَ مَحَبَّةً
فيamong خَلقِهِHis creatures وَمُحَمَّداًand Muhammad سَمّاكاHe named you
في خَلقِهِ وَمُحَمَّداً سَمّاكا
Indeed, God has established love for you
Indeed, God has founded upon you love
among His creatures, and named you Muhammad.
Among His creation, and named you Muhammad
ثُمَّthen الَّذينَthose who وَفَواthey kept faith بِماto what عاهَدتَهُمyou covenanted with them
ثُمَّ الَّذينَ وَفَوا بِما عاهَدتَهُم
جُندٌtroops بَعَثتَyou sent عَلَيهِمُover them الضَحّاكاal-Dahhak
جُندٌ بَعَثتَ عَلَيهِمُ الضَحّاكا
Then those who kept the covenant you made with them
Then those who fulfilled what they pledged to you
are troops you sent al-Dahhak to command,
An army you sent against them, victorious
رَجُلاًa man بِهِin him ذَرَبُkeenness السِلاحِthe weapons كَأَنَّهُas though he
رَجُلاً بِهِ ذَرَبُ السِلاحِ كَأَنَّهُ
لَمّاwhen تَكَنَّفَهُsurrounded him العَدُوُّthe enemy يَراكاhe sees you
لَمّا تَكَنَّفَهُ العَدُوُّ يَراكا
a man keen in arms, as though
A man with whom the clashing of swords is like
he could see you when the enemy surrounded him.
When the enemy engulfed him, he saw you
يَغشىhe assails ذَويthose of النَسَبِkinship القَريبِclose وَإِنَّماand only
يَغشى ذَوي النَسَبِ القَريبِ وَإِنَّما
يَبغيhe seeks رِضاthe pleasure الرَحمَنِthe Most Merciful ثُمَّthen رِضاكاyour pleasure
يَبغي رِضا الرَحمَنِ ثُمَّ رِضاكا
He assails his close kin, and only
He covers those of close lineage, though he
seeks the Most Merciful's pleasure, then yours.
Seeks only the pleasure of God, then yours
أُنبيكَI tell you أَنّيthat I قَدindeed رَأَيتُI saw مَكَرَّهُhis charge
أُنبيكَ أَنّي قَد رَأَيتُ مَكَرَّهُ
تَحتَbeneath العَجاجَةِthe dust cloud يَدمَغُhe crushes الإِشراكاpolytheism
تَحتَ العَجاجَةِ يَدمَغُ الإِشراكا
I tell you that I have seen his charge
I warn you that I have seen his scheming
beneath the dust cloud, crushing polytheism.
Under the turban, crushing polytheism
طَوراًat times يُعانِقُhe grapples بِاليَدَينِwith both hands وَتارَةًand at other times
طَوراً يُعانِقُ بِاليَدَينِ وَتارَةً
يَفريhe cleaves الجَماجِمَthe skulls صارِماًa keen sword بَتّاكاsevering
يَفري الجَماجِمَ صارِماً بَتّاكا
At times he grapples with both hands, and at others
At times embracing with both hands, at others
he cleaves skulls with a keen, severing sword.
Severing heads, a fierce hero
يَغشىhe assails بِهِwith it هامَthe heads الكُماةِthe armored warriors وَلَوand if تَرىyou see
يَغشى بِهِ هامَ الكُماةِ وَلَو تَرى
مِنهُof him الَّذيwhat عايَنتُI witnessed كانَit would be شِفاكاyour cure
مِنهُ الَّذي عايَنتُ كانَ شِفاكا
He assails armored warriors' heads with it; and if you could see
With him he overwhelms the heads of the arrogant, if only you could see
what I witnessed of him, it would be a balm to you.
That which I saw, it would be your healing
وَبَنوand the sons of سُلَيمٍSulaym مُعنِقونَrushing forward أَمامَهُahead of him
وَبَنو سُلَيمٍ مُعنِقونَ أَمامَهُ
ضَرباًstriking وَطَعناًand thrusting فيat العَدُوِّthe enemy دِراكاin rapid succession
ضَرباً وَطَعناً في العَدُوِّ دِراكا
And Banu Sulaym rush ahead of him,
And the Banu Sulaym in front of him
striking and thrusting at the enemy in rapid succession.
Striking and stabbing the enemy, overcoming
يَمشونَthey march تَحتَbeneath لِوائِهِhis banner وَكَأَنَّهُمand as though they
يَمشونَ تَحتَ لِوائِهِ وَكَأَنَّهُم
أُسدُlions العَرينِthe lair أَرَدنَthey sought ثَمَّthere عِراكاcombat
أُسدُ العَرينِ أَرَدنَ ثَمَّ عِراكا
They march beneath his banner, as though they were
They walk under his flag, as if they are
lions of the lair, seeking combat there.
The lion of the den, they struck then clashed
ماnot يَرتَجونَthey hope for مَنَfrom القَريبِthe kinsman قَرابَةًkinship
ما يَرتَجونَ مَنَ القَريبِ قَرابَةً
إلاّexcept لِطاعَةِfor obedience to رَبِّهِمtheir Lord وَهواكاand love for you
إلاّ لِطاعَةِ رَبِّهِم وَهواكا
They seek no kinship from a kinsman,
They do not hope from a relative any kinship
save in obedience to their Lord and love for you.
Except obedience to their Lord and your love
هَذيthese مَشاهِدُناour battles الَّتيwhich كانَتwere لَناto us
هَذي مَشاهِدُنا الَّتي كانَت لَنا
مَعروفَةًwell known وَوَلِيُّناand our protector مَولاكاyour protector
مَعروفَةً وَوَلِيُّنا مَولاكا
These are our battles, which to us were
These are our sights which were known to us
well known; and our protector is your protector.
And our guardian is none but you
