أَن يَقبَلوا الحُسنَ مِن مَلكٍ وَإِن عَظُما
Horsemen whose neighing steeds never go unsaddled refuse
The knights whose blades are ever bare
To accept kindness from a king, however great he may be.
Refuse beauty from a king though high his fame

No, while swords are unsheathed in our hands!
Nay, while swords are ready in our hands
May none of us be routed on the morning of terror!
None of us shall flee when terror is proclaimed
