Do you sharpen spears in our enemy's hands
and neglect spears with which we contend?

When secret counsel drags on without men of understanding,
it brings ruin and bows the cheek of one who stands alone.
فَحارِبso fight فَإِنfor if مَولاكَyour ally حارَدَfails نَصرُهُhis aid
فَحارِب فَإِن مَولاكَ حارَدَ نَصرُهُ
فَفيthen in السَيفِthe sword مَولىan ally نَصرُهُhis aid لاdoes not يُحارِدُfail
فَفي السَيفِ مَولى نَصرُهُ لا يُحارِدُ
So fight; for if your ally's aid fails,
then in the sword is an ally whose aid never fails.
