1. No blame on whoever mourns for al-Husayn
And from every limb of his, tears flowed in this calamity

2. It is immense agony in the wilderness, not easy
Oh my soul and father I sacrifice for my Master al-Husayn

3. By my father I ransom him alone in the plains of Karbala
And sorrow has surrounded him there and affliction

4. And to him the transgressors marched wrongfully
Oh my soul and father I sacrifice for my Master al-Husayn

5. I will not forget when he stood as an orator among them
With eloquent advice and clear speech to the incomprehensive

6. With the strangest prose for a while, and oration
Oh my soul and father I ransom for my Master al-Husayn

7. Or with a poetry that magic praises its eloquence
Oh my nation so seek about what will bring you to destruction

8. And leave me and my return to my grandfather in Yathrib
Oh my soul and father I ransom for my Master al-Husayn

9. Am I not the son of Mustafa the Chosen and the son of Ali?
Fatima the Radiant is my mother, my lineage among you is clear

10. Ja'far the Flyer is the son of the Chosen Prophet and son of Ali
Oh my soul and father I ransom for my Master al-Husayn

11. Return to your senses, O people, in what you have come for
Reproach it, perhaps after this you will call

12. Do not commit my killing, what makes you kill me?
Oh my soul and father I ransom for my Master al-Husayn

13. But they refused except misguidance as they were upon it
And transgressed the Argument of God and what he calls to

14. And they saw the killing of the son of the Chosen's daughter with his children
Oh my soul and father I ransom for my Master al-Husayn

15. So he walked among them, so they turned into enraged red camels
Who saw the lion so they fled fearing the roar

16. Thus they are two groups for killing and one group terrified
By my father I ransom the best of God al-Husayn

17. We have not heard of anyone like al-Husayn in times past
Alone while multitudes surrounded him in battle and he did not waver

18. An army of disbelief while he, among them in the fray, did not weaken
Rather they became, as soon as they saw the strike of Husayn, two parties

19. Witnesses of Badr and Uhud, the carriers of the fierce lion
Haidar the Pounding and the horsemen used to wander

20. They had not seen ever carriers like the youths of the son of Batool
Alone, by my father I ransom the Master al-Husayn

21. Thus it was obligatory for the Most High to carry in them
In order to show that Husayn is the Argument of God over

22. Whoever of these creatures drew near arrogantly or loftily
So perhaps they will contemplate with speech and action to soften

23. Two arguments the Merciful brought out from him for them
A supreme lesson with clear speech, so when they were obstinate

24. And transgressed the Argument of God and what he calls to
And they saw the killing of the Chosen's grandson with his children

25. A guiding lesson, by my father I ransom my Master al-Husayn
And the life of a person and death are trials for the servants

26. So for this he fell martyred from the back of the horse
Rubbing in the dust, nothing shrouded him except it

27. Stabbed by the wretched evil-born one
What an affliction that has occurred in both worlds

28. The best of the Compeller became in the evening, while he was in the expanse, a prey
And his father, the Argument of God, the brave lion of the den

29. Haidar the Pounding, the one who prays towards both Qiblas
Oh what sermons to the religion of God, Lord of the Throne's perfection

30. The One of eras and Master of creatures truly without fault
Quenching the white enemies and villains with his blood

31. While he is thirsty and has not tasted water for two drops
A day in which no intimate is beneficial except the Imam

32. Oh my nation what excuse do I have in weeping for al-Husayn?
The zeal of God be angry for the son of the greatest Prophet

33. The best of all people, master of its Arabs and non-Arabs
His body above the soil, the greatest dyed by it

34. Oh my soul and father I ransom my Master al-Husayn
Among noble supporters killed in front of him

35. Killed patiently thirsty, they saw the command to him
So they ransomed themselves with killing out of fear for him

36. Thus may they all win the two gardens
They preceded the preceders and successors in this stand

37. They knew that none would survive so they hurried the cup of death
And all of them drank it for God, supporting the Imam

38. That did not harm whoever won both al-Hassans
By my father I ransom him, his blood flows atop the expanse

39. Bare, melted by the sun in the battlefield of struggle
Wandering winds above him, raging confusion

40. Oh my soul and father I ransom my Master al-Husayn
By my father I ransom blood spilling amidst the sands

41. By my father I ransom corpses in valleys and hills
By my father I ransom heads atop tall wooden posts

42. The enemies attained revenge for Badr and Hunayn through it
By my father I ransom women driven out of their shelters

43. Perplexed in the wilds with trailing garments
They brought them out of cover though they were shy

44. Crying loudly, lamenting al-Husayn
Shouting at the Messenger of God the crimes of enemies

45. They shackled them without caution of the Day of Calling Out
With onlookers, both attendants and absent

46. So who will allow me to donate blood to win the two gardens?
Grandfather, may tears pour as long as you live for this affliction

47. It is a blow to the heart of the Chaste Prophet that hit him
And melted the self of the Pounding Master, our Master

48. And make it a habitual enemy mornings and a mourning gathering
And for you through this God magnifies the great reward

49. It weakened the strength of Islam and the straight religion
And the protection of the Compeller has become one whose sanctity is violated

50. And by it disbelief and the religion of blasphemy delighted from him
It is an agony that the piercing ion has cried for

51. And for it the earth has overflowed with blood between worshippers
And for it the Throne quaked and Bayt Allah tilted

52. And the universe and earth and whatever is in both sanctuaries trembled
O you who travel gloriously, visit the Valley of Ghadiri

53. You will find a secret to guidance, the best secret
And encompassing knowledge revealed in scriptures

54. The Argument of God Ali and the father of al-Husayn
Be astonished with complaint at the grave and after greetings say

55. I came to give news of my master your son from atop soil
They killed him thirsty without any crime

56. Among people of his family, by my father the most righteous al-Husayn
They killed him and his family and rebelled arrogantly

57. Stampeding over his back after a delighted chest
Then they turned to the women and they were seized without body armor

58. Shackled from them a neck after hands
By my father I ransom the best of God Ali

59. Among them my master in what heavy shackles pulled
Mounted on skinny camels atop a humiliated heap

60. War booty driven to the wicked evil-born one
O family of Taha, Yasin, Tseen, and Sad

61. O guides of people, O those who have authority over worshippers
O my masters, the corruption that has afflicted me

62. Rectify my state by Allah's permission, Lord of the two dawns
And accept me, I praise you and the parents

63. And the son of Musa, and Khalil, I stay up at night in you all
And upon you are the prayers of God, Lord of the two dawns
