1. The Khedive's travelers have arrived, and Egypt rejoices,
Its stars delighted by his radiance.

2. With his return, her beauty is complete,
As if the sun and moon were part of his splendor.

3. This is no surprise, for with his nobility
She who rejoices in his eternal light.

4. Long has Egypt lamented, burning with longing for him,
The fire of yearning flaring in her air.

5. But his arrival has brought her joy,
Dispelling the longing that tormented her being.

6. All the lands congratulate Egypt
For hosting him, though it is her nature to be thankful.

7. For he is the sun whose virtues are universal,
No land is deprived of his rays.

8. With him, God has granted and honored us,
Supporting his people in all affairs with success and victory.

9. His virtues in the universe are without equal,
No poetry or prose can encompass them.

10. How can one who praises him contain such merit,
Can the water of seas be confined?

11. All hopes bow before his augustness,
And this age reaches fulfillment in his shade.

12. May God protect him for us many long years,
And may his days ascend in nobility.

13. May Egypt delight in the joy she has attained,
And may fortune, prosperity, and glad tidings endure.

14. His honor’s return brings her glory,
May pride in him last while her triumphs endure.

15. With Ahmad’s return good news is recorded,
The Khedive is back, rejoice O Egypt!
