Yet a grave pleased you in the darknesses

5. What beauty in a palace where all are afraid
Compared to a grave, an inviolable house

6. I socialized with those under the soil, serene,
While you distracted yourself with Abd Shihm and Jurhum

7. Oh Zaydan you did not do us justice when you left us
Crying over you while you smile

8. You forgot while we did not forget love
While we are in misery and you are blessed

9. You intentionally left us while we needed
One who does us justice in history and judges

10. Come document events for people
That horrify the young and make the old decay

11. And sharpen the pen to write the past
For an age has come full of events

12. If what you documented in times past
Was great, what we face today is greater

13. Cannons that deafen hearing
And hell emerges from their mouths

14. When they gape with abhorrence
Toppling foundations and breaking fortresses

15. And ships racing in procession to sink
When one sinks soundly another sinks

16. When some escape towards a refuge
Nothing that spews death spares

17. And a submarine like a whale swims secretly
Toppling floating ships with its target

18. And a plane the eagle cannot match
Spying on the enemy's army and translating

19. Then swooping from it like lightning sometimes
Shooting bullets, other times arrows aimed

20. And a tube flowing with liquids
That blind the air and paralyze it dumb

21. When it parts from the tube with a whizzing
If the people smell it, the people collapse

22. So the air shrieks and the sea is turbulent
And on land limbs fly and wrists

23. And in every valley is clamor and regret
And in every house wherever you went, mourning

24. So no concern lacked crying or bewailing
Nor a wife or mother remained

25. Oh poor youth who dare it
And oh poor youth who evaded death

26. You deserve right so delight where you are with loved ones
And settle between them where they settled

27. And boast of an abode without hatred
And compete in a rule without tyranny

28. If you are absent from us, solace remains in your sons
And if speech is difficult, the crescent translates
