1. My daughter may covet and my provisions may run short
And my clothes be torn after the wager
١. قَد يَتَمَت بِنتي وَآمَت كَنَّتي
وَشُعِّثَت بَعدَ الرِهانِ جُمَّتي
2. Return the horses to me if she is pained
If you do not fulfill it then take my wrappings as compensation
٢. رُدّوا عَلَيَّ الخَيلَ إِن أَلَمَّتِ
إِن لَم يُناجِزها فَجُزّوا لِمَّتي
3. A mother knows what she has wrapped
And tied in a cloth and protected
٣. قَد عَلِمَت والِدَةٌ ما ضَمَّتِ
ما لَفَّفَت في خِرَقٍ وَشَمَّتِ
4. When the brave meet the brave and blend together
Is it unmanly in war or most courageous?
٤. إِذا الكُماةُ بِالكُماةِ إِلتَفَّتِ
أَمُخدَجٌ في الحَربِ أَم أَتَمَّتِ
