1. The pain of the noble stings the generous souls
And the hopes of the throne of honours have withered

2. Darkness has befallen the lands and the mighty seven shook
The earth with tremors and quakes

3. If only he descended like a shooting star to fulfill his decree
Or like mountains shaking mountains

4. The day he passed, justice turned to Muhammad
The virtuous, the pure, with deeds and actions

5. Say to the exalted, set forth your journey, for I do not see
Anyone else people would set forth a journey for

6. He was an ocean of light, but its waves have stilled
And people now face dry basins after him

7. None knew virtue except him, and none
Wore a cloak except of piety

8. He prized the people of his time with generosity
As if they were his own children

9. O turner away of afflictions from us, protect us
From the evils left behind without you

10. How could the law of Ahmed not mourn
When you were its protector and guard

11. You set forth gems of knowledge as examples
And excelled in the sciences as an example

12. With every virtue, his excellence disappeared
For all people, present and future

13. Your advice about the majestic law was as if
Gabriel had just descended with a verse

14. As if his signs were inscribed with details
On tablets, in brief and in full

15. Those gems only flowed from his seas
To quench your thirst forever

16. In your life, you were blissful joy
And today, after you, sorrow continues

17. If not for your sons, I would have despaired for you
But I saw your light in them, shining bright

18. They are the elite glory and pride
Who deemed forbidden and legal for people

19. The pillar of Islam stood with them, and they adorned
It with might and majesty

20. Like the grief of Abraham and the Master whose
Hands stretched to the misguided people

21. And his brother Abdel Hussein, and through him
The people of this world attained great fortune

22. He preserved what was in his father, and always
Followed his example in everything

23. And the glorious grandson Al-Hussein, so revered
The elite bow to him in utmost respect

24. And my brother, the most distinguished Ali, who
Bestowed his overflowing grace upon all people

25. Take solace in the pious Muhammad
The most generous son of Al-Hadi and the most gracious family

26. And the towering master of knowledge Al-Marnaki
Whose loftiness would be high if extended by palms

27. The benchmark of scholars, before whom
Scholars trail their hems

28. He does not cease to direct towards pardon, watering the soil
In which the chaste and virtuous are wrapped
