1. I seek forgiveness from Allah, for Allah is Forgiving
No sin nor shame lies with a lover

2. With fire they threatened me, so I told them
The fire has mercy on those whose hearts hold fire's burn

3. Allah does not increase the lovers' sorrows
Except that the lovers bear no burdens of sin

4. If not for modesty before the chiders that covers us
Then the veils would be rent from the lovers

5. And of my afflictions is that I love you
A slave, while all around me are freemen
