1. Be diligent in your affairs,
For destiny overcomes all things.
١. كن في أمورك ساعياً
فالشيءُ يقهره القَدَرْ
2. Precautions are of no avail,
And caution seldom profits.
٢. ليس التحرُّز نافعاً
ولَقَلَّ ما يُغنى الحَذرْ
3. All matters yield to destiny,
When it comes, it blinds the sight.
٣. كلُّ الأُمور إلى القدَرْ
فإذا أتى غَشّى البَصَرْ
