I became among the group of lovers like the flag

And the neighbor is blaming with censure making me guilty

3. Oh passion in passion, a soul I submitted to
And I did not find a refreshing soul in them making me cheerful

4. And in my crying over a state from nothingness
I pretended to be patient so it was no use to prevent my blood

They increased grace so my patience is lacking, so woe to my sickness

9. I thought well of them and even if they attempted my ruin

12. I have no recoil from raptures in my bewilderment
But my recoil from my seeking comfort became part of my necessity

13. I hoped they would show grace and they did show grace
But upon causing my ruin from excessive love of them

14. Sleeplessness weakened me from love in which
Yearning, hidden sorrow, and affliction kept me from sleeping

15. And a blamer wanted me to be comforted so I said:
The existence of prey in traps is impossible

16. You blamed me and claimed advice in it but
I never ceased striving without limit toward bliss

17. How can I be comforted while the fire of love is kindled
Amidst the ashes and the tears are gushing like blood

18. I have eyelids that have never used kohl except by insomnia
And features that have never been marked except by illness

19. Lionesses fear me in their lairs, and
Those gazelles made me humble by their glory

20. They shone with the sun of morning and the full moon when they appeared
And lightning flashed toward their smiling

21. Oh self, what is the use O serious one, so if they reconcile
Then seeking them is more worthy so my death is an honorable death

22. The memory of them makes my hearing accept rebuke
Which excites me from songs and admits me to thanking them

23. I reached the farthest limit of love that none can attain
Except a cheeky youth like me toward nonexistence

24. I concealed my state but my moaning disobeys concealment
By the command of the two betrayers, tears and sickness

25. They said manage yourself, I said my heart does not obey me
They said relent, I said my commitment does not break

26. They said you are seeking comfort, I said patience is burdening me
They said you despair, I said exoneration is my sickness

27. O my blamer, you are excused so you will see
When dawn appears what the darkness covered

28. You determined blame so it is feared that it drags you
To seeking comfort while seeking comfort is not of my traits

29. Manage matters with their humiliation so that perhaps
You may see the face of good advice in my words

30. I exclude from the blame of your like showing my dissociation
Since you are counted for me among graces

31. Does ignorance make you err or is blindness from your sight
Causing you to lose your sense or a kind of blemish?

32. You made yourself weary in blaming me and I have
An excuse from me to you but my hearing is deaf toward you

33. Blame, rebuke, and say what you elucidate, you will not see me
Except as my love decreed, preserving my integrity

34. You recommend me patience from those at whom
All that passed from situations of their love culminated

35. Repeat, renew, make cheerful, elaborate, fold, sing, answer
Say, ask, strive, chant, exonerate, commend, shed blood

36. Repeat the narrative of my beloved ones for they are Arabs
Whom tears have elucidated in them every obscure one

37. They dwelled in the secret from me so it is their dwelling
And I never uttered it to anyone but them one day

38. Estrangement appeared due to my remoteness from their vicinity
So by my nearing their places connection returned

39. Beloved ones for whom my heart has no other yearning
And their love has always been increasing since old

40. I held to the sincerity of their loyalty and committed myself to it
So I do not seek comfort but about seeking their comfort

41. They lodged in my heart and sweetened it with their grace
So my generosity, my thanks, my listening and my speaking

42. The splendor of the sun is no more delightful in the horizons shining
In a day than the beauty of their beauty is delightful

43. High glories do not enable me sovereignty
If I am not for them among the totality of servants

44. By their grace they overwhelmed me from their abundant graces
With what I failed to do justice to their gratitude

45. They seized me since I felt their fire
With light displacing my darkness from the source of their seclusion

46. They clothed me in the garb of connection marked
By their nearness and they hoisted my flag on high

47. They allowed me governance wherein I gained triumph through them
The triumph of the naked because of the overflowing of their grace

48. They have praiseworthy marks with beneficence that embraced
And they taught the nobility of characters and traits

49. And I have dealings from them with beauty that are always
Connected with their benefaction without being severed

50. They said faithfulness is rare in the livelihood of the infatuated with them
So no paucity emerged after what they granted from connection

51. Those spending soul, spending money from their hands
And those preserving a neighbor, preservation of integrity and obligations

52. With the grace of Allah they do not get deprived of what they were granted
And they deprive the harm of begging despite generosity

53. The masters of events, red in war
Green in meadows, white in deed in peace

54. As if when they appeared in the stirring of bubbles
Full moons appeared in the darkness of gloom

55. For the group they turned and their determinations did not turn
Those are the meadows to uproot each pillar thoroughly

56. They are the stars so nothing was unpropitious in their emergence
In the horizon of his nation, brightened by their guidance

57. No doubt mixes with the plainness of their belief
Nor does piety adorn itself with blame and blemishes

58. With precedence they won distinction made specific of
Among them his trusted successor of old

59. They have no fault other than that no equivalents match them
Nor are they stingy with subsidy even in scarcity

60. Taha whom if I embrace my sin and find comfort through him
My fear subsides and he saves me from wrath

61. I have not aspired to attain anything of grace
Except that he makes me attain beyond what I seek

62. The winds have never blown but I smelled the scent of grace for me in it
And extending gifts from towering bounties

63. Oh most generous of messengers, my request from you does not diminish
And you are most generous of those invited to grace

64. It suffices me to love you that one is resurrected with
His loved ones, so my happiness has no end

65. I praised your glory with loyalty to sincerity that obligates me in it
And the beauty of my praise of you is my sealing

66. In the beauty of the rising of the moons in the safe abode
I became among the group of the enamored like the banner

67. I say and tears run, wounding and blaming, convicting me
O passion in passion, I submitted my soul to it

68. And found no souls giving good tidings or cheering from them
While crying over a state of nothingness

69. I pretended patience so was no use to stem my blood

75. Suffered yearning of them, piecing my heart
It was said "Ask of them"; I said: If dawn would breeze

76. And the moon show full, outliving their month
I've no recoil from mad love reveries

77. Nay, recoil from solace became my destined plight
I hoped grace they'd show, and grace showed they,

78. But causing loss - too loving breathed their words
Sleep quit me for the love that sparks unease

79. And hidden sorrows, aches grant no repose
A critic chided I should comfort take

80. I said: the snared prey liberation knows?
You blamed while feigning counsel but

81. I'll ceaseless strive, seeking where bliss flows
How solace take when flames of love ignite

82. Amidst embers, tears gush blood, it shows
Mine eyelids without wakefulness saw no kohl

83. My cheek untouched but by disease arose
Lionesses cower from me in their lair

84. Those tender gazelles by glory bowed me low
Dawn's sun and moon shone at their advent, while

85. Flashing lightnings toward their smile bestowed
Oh soul, this longing - why? Just earnest be,

86. And if they grace, seek that, honorable my death's throe
Hearing reproach from songs now stirs my soul

87. As thanks admitting, pleasing notes bestow
I've reached love's limits none but one possessed,

88. A youth like me, to nonexistence throws
I hid my state, but plaints hide nothing well,

89. As the command of traitorous tears and woes
They said compose yourself - my heart obeys not

90. Relent, they said - my troth fast knotted knows
Be patient, they proclaimed - that weighs upon me

91. Despair, they said - and sickness that's my role
My critic, you've excuse - so you will see

92. Dawn bares what night has hid beneath its clothes
You harmed with blame - thus fear it trails you where

93. Comfort I spurn, such ways my soul foregoes
Deal gently, and perhaps your counsel's face

94. Will in my words reveal, their blemish goes
I spare your like from blame, to higher ways aspire,

95. For you are with me counted among life's joys
Does ignorance make you stray or has blindness come

96. To rob your reason or some sickness rose?
You wearied seeking faults, while I’ve for you

97. Excuse - yet deaf my ears to all you propose
Upbraid and chide and say what you make clear, I'll not

98. Be seen but as my passion has composed,
Guarding my troth inviolate, come what goes

99. You'd patience have me for my dreams of those
At whom culminates each state love did impose -

100. Renew, repeat, gladden, unfold, turn, sing, respond,
Query, strive, chant, pardon, heal, make verse from woes!

101. Repeat my darling dears' tales - Arabs they
Whose tears make plain even the dimmest of those

102. They dwell within my heart, of secrets they've
No other place, none else their world e'er knows

103. Estrangement came when from their presence I removed,
But joining by nearing them return bestows

104. No loves but theirs fill my heart that swells amain
Since early days, their love evermore grows

105. I've kept sincere their loyalty; I've remained
Steadfast - seeking comfort but as they dispose

106. They lodged within my heart and sweetened it with grace
My soul, thanksgiving, hearing, speaking - each endows

107. No brighter day e’er shone than their beauty’s trace
Unless their servants' roll my name allows

108. By grace the lofty station was denied
If I cannot be counted among their lows

109. Obliterated me with graces, though thereby
I failed their gratitude to aptly show

110. They drew me, feeling since their blaze aligned,
The light from their retreat where murk’s o’erthrown

111. Garbing connection by their nearness' sign
My station’s emblem raised; I am their own

112. Bestowed on me to rule so I, because of them
Am triumphant, like desolate wastes I’d grown

113. They have the noble traits of benefaction, housed
And taught kind character and ways immune

114. Accords I have with beauteous deeds still bloomed
Fast bound in bounty, severed not so soon

115. They said: Among their ardents, loyalty has fled -
No dearth has come, joined since they graced the boom

116. Those spending soul and wealth dealt from their hand
And neighbors shielding, binding word and plume

117. Allah’s grace robbed them not of what they gained
As generous, though begging is their doom

118. Heroes when war’s occasions lower the gloom,
Pacific - white deeds greening meadow’s groom

119. As bubbles roused, seemed rising moons illumed
From darkness blanketed in nightly womb

120. Embattled not their single battling host
Meadow set steadfast, razing pillars' room

121. Beamed auspicious their stars when they appeared
Brightening their creed if they are to assume

122. No wavering doubts their faith sincere has marred
Nor torn pure ways for words of ire or rue

123. Preceded, singled out ahead confirmed
Among them the Trusted Friend of days long passed

124. No faults but that they've no equivalents, nay,
From abundance stingy when dire need amassed

125. Taha - embracing him I don’t fear wrath
If I take comfort – no vengeance can outlast

126. I hoped no grace, but heights unhoped were cast
No winds but blew their scent of gifts repast

127. Most generous of messengers, diminished not
My hopes in you, most generous forecast

128. Requiting love, you'll find one meets at last
Those loved - perpetual joy holds steadfast
