1. May your Lord keep you in honor and support
And in joy, favor, and ease

2. O the one who does not fulfill his promise
It hurts the heart to break a promise

3. O the one God has clothed in the garment of honor
And endowed with the cleansing of lineages

4. You neither grant the urgent need of the yearning one
Nor are you gentle with him because of prolonged waiting

5. O the one I anticipate from Ashura his promised time
The nights have worn me out after renewal

6. I see that the self does not attain its death
Until I am shrouded and buried in my grave

7. You neither fulfill my needs to revive me
Nor defend me with strong support

8. So fulfill the promise, O son of the most generous
My worry and purpose morning and night

9. Hasten it, my master, and favor me with it
Before the fast, before Fitr, and before Eid

10. If you do, otherwise I will not ask of you
As long as I live, and my effort is enough
