1. O grave of Yahya, you are never devoid of greetings
From all beings of smiles and melodies

2. Why care for the opinion of one with ambition
Who was ruined by destiny’s firm decrees

3. Or did you not know that one who sought glory
With the sword on a day of turmoil was not safe

4. He keeps stumbling on tongues and predators
Until he crumpled and his clothes like the gloomy night

5. You saw the whites take his armor
So I recalled the honor of Muhammad ibn al-Haytham

6. The knight’s purpose says upon meeting it
The generous one does not forbid the spear
