1. We pride ourselves on being fortunate through your honor
And rejoice in you however much hostility assails you

2. So make peace, Abu Nuh, for you only
Yearn for safety so you may be generous and praised

3. And the health of the Emir gladdens you, for he
Has set out with united resolve and attacked

4. In a blessing that is for nobility and exaltation
And safety that is for generosity and freshness

5. When men resemble each other in story
A glory has risen over the stars and Saud

6. And when both of you fell ill, our prayer
Was that you heal and our souls be the ransom

7. You have a habit never to cease taking him
As partner in what concerns him, accompanying or helping

8. You both vie in purity of love
As though you vie forever

9. If only your protection could ward off the hostility of deprivation
Or his protection could turn away adversity

10. And the soul is one though you have become
Two persons, sheltering in generosity and help

11. A spirit that directs its motions from you both
Two bodies, this one a servant, that a master
