Between the begging of an old man and his existence

2. And however much the two may blame the Lord
There is clarity in the white and black of youth

3. And strange is the wit of this eloquent poet

With tears of sorrow for what is missed?

5. For a time, we were bothered by its flaws then
Pleased with its virtues in substitution

6. Gone without hope of the past returning
Nor anticipation of its distant return

Filled with the dawn, intercepting its pillars

8. A visitor for whom Iraq's lands glowed after its generosity
The soul's relief, and the eye's provision are in his cheeks and workflow

9. Granting in his union what used to prevent in its estrangement
The sleep of a lover is the wretchedness of his living, and the life of ease in his presence

10. We do not see the succession of nights showing us
Glory like the blossoming green of his presence

11. And glory is a ladder whose rungs
Abu Amer has climbed to its summit

12. He puzzles the darkness when obscure poems
Ignite in it a flame from its fuel

13. It suffices that glory suffices for the self-sufficient
If he sought more from his surplus

14. The departing pilgrim circles the courtyard of generosity
From my allotment to his carpet

15. A master of servants, the people's patron from above them
And the elite of his servants

16. The fire of war makes enemies dormant
When they hope for rest from its dormancy

17. Their homes in their perimeter ascend the stars
When it ends in its ascent

18. The non-Arabs did not exercise with it until
They knew the toughness of its wood

19. An advisor in quandaries, whenever worries
Ascended beyond the call of its youth

20. And a precision strike on the joints of opinion if
His views were from his soldiers

21. His determination and dash correct
Sophistication proceeds from his support

31. His accessibility to the early revivalist
Would be issuance before its arrival

32. Oh Abu Amer, you lived and found
From life its prime happiness

33. Every era we were enlightened by it or saw it
Informing from your elite about its pillar

34. The enmity of enemies returned destruction and ruin
Enmity ruined the stone the misery of its repeat

35. And they saw you rise so they committed suicide
Out of envy of the revival of its elevation

36. Envy in superiority, yet growing among all people
Has eroded the envious more than the superior

37. Boasting, and reminding the repeater at its tune
A treasure of remembrance increasing in it

38. Is your affection for its glorifier
