1. Indeed for your act, O Muhammad, I give praise
And to you in aspiration and hope I solicit

2. Your care exhorts me, a close relative, in right guidance
Which you've eased before yourself, an upright guide

3. You were shaken yet you stayed resolutely steadfast
Your scabbard hid your sword, aloft or sheathed

4. I call you by the womb’s bond for it
Yearns just as one deprived yearns

5. And by the sanctity of refined culture between us
Where people are either relatives or strangers

6. And our creed’s advocacy and our support
Of the truth if one supporting falsehood contends

7. Though the prince’s munificence pours forth
By your munificence’s bounty whatever the guide dictated

8. Or if he equaled generosity’s oneness
You’re singular in care’s generosity

9. And you started forth as brother, with tenderness,
And heed so it’s as though you're a father

10. You began a matter—so repeat—the lad
Brings what lauds him while consequences ensue

11. I haven't digressed from what I was in
Nor been absent from a share of honor and your witnessing
