1. O Abu Nahshal, the call of a stranger
A pitiful one for the afflictions of adversities

2. Patient with you every day over the entirety
Of this coldness and rebuke

3. Knowing that for the consequences in your
Affair there is an action that satisfies the wrath of hearts

4. And perhaps time will fulfill a promise
About you, indeed time is not a liar

5. And my stance with you in this state
Is a stance that vilifies every refined man

6. In summer clothing while the time has brought
A wondrous thing from winter

7. And the nights recite the poetry of Abu al-Baraq
In various rhythms with the fall of rain
