That reaps the harvest of lifetimes.

18. A tear, whenever I shed it, I fear no chider,
Even if I were among its gushing floods.

Over it, and from its landmarks being effaced.

20. Watered by hands that vanished until its domes
And columns were joined by their channels.

23. But, by the light coffin! Indeed its final journey bore
The weight of the exalted, and its first journey.

24. One virtuous built a wall over the family of the virtuous,
Impregnable to the might of the Caliphate.

25. If his generosity and leniency have become evident,
So have their glory and nobility.

26. O Father of Hasan! Patience is the companion of one who travels
The path, as events jostle him.

27. Were it not for his prudence, his Lord would not dam back tears,
And were it not for wisdom, the forbearing would not restrain rage.

28. Show strength! The sword continues on its path
Even as its wielder tires, if its pillar remains standing.

Was smooth, when its milestones did not obey it.

31. It treacherously departed from the palace of the Persians,
Leaving Kisra bin Sasan while his doves moan.

33. And the bereavement of his son, Muaf, was over his own loss -
Naught remained but his patience and resolves.

34. Urwa - when his legs failed him,
And his sanctities were robbed from him by his sons -

35. Those who consoled him wept, while he laughed,
Bewildering the consoler.

37. Death, perfidious, wrongs you, so you don
The honour of sorrow, as though you were its wrongdoer.

40. Among them is the chosen Prophet, his cousin,
Al-โ€˜Abbas, Jaโ€˜far, and his son Qasim.

41. If a Hashimite is one morning destined for death
His exemplars in it, and in glory, are Hashimites.
