1. Leave my tears in that yearning
To converse with the act of the day of parting

2. Perhaps tears will be calmed with complaint
Of a passionate longing lover

3. Verily a doe did not give drink to a doe
And did not know the secrets of lovers

With two rosy cheeks for the brave beloved

8. O Abu Nahshal you still give drink
As if you are in a state of rain pouring

9. If you could see my agony, sorrow, fervor
And my passion, burning, and yearning

10. And my turning to you from Mount Qa
With pouring tears of outpouring

11. You would be certain that I am truthful in love
Loyal in pact and covenant

12. By my soul and my family’s good manner
Of Arabi’s etiquette and morals

13. The silent dew and the gracious king
In the conclusion of the porch

14. Always secluding with opinion in solitude
Not fearing the nights with a companion

15. Troubles avoid him if they meet him
When he is tempted by thought and determination

16. Silent, he rises so the path of lifespan and provisions rise with him
With a threat and appointment like pouring rain between thunder and lightning

17. And assets he made for gathering
Wealth he made for separation

18. And gifts that come as comrades but depart
As comrades of the well-being after comrades

19. Coming and going with a sign of generosity
Spreading its shade upon the horizons

20. And with determination, if it repelled dawn, no face
Would have accepted the east in its rising

21. And glory, if it were for the full moon
The judgment of disappearance would not have passed in it

22. Generosity flows from abundant giving
And might from pouring blood
