1. That valley of Al-Arak, so stay awhile
Whether shortened from youth or prolonged

2. Stop longing, happy, or sad
Or helping, excusing, or turning away

3. Between the sand dune, the rugged ground, and the slopes
There is a place for the family of Hind to lodge

4. The wind, the fragrances, and the days
Have erased its features, or made them fade

5. Better than beauty, is to tell the rememberer
To be patient with the days of loved ones

6. Do not blame him for continuing to shed tears
For it would be base to blame a sincere friend

7. The water of tears can extinguish a fire
Of love's ardour, or remove anguish

8. And the weeping of the abode is what repels
Yearning with remembrance, and love with little comfort

9. Our day was not long with bliss
But the crying was long

10. We found Muhammed son of Ali
The epitome of glory, saying and doing

11. And we saw traits that scattered musk
As we saw clothes in disarray

12. We saw a mark of dew and leniency
After which we did not want evidence

13. An Ash'ari whom Isa son of Musa endowed
With nobility that reached the highest summit

14. And generosity - had the stingy sought
To deny it, they would find no way

15. He left opportunities for the steeds and threw
Himself into the expanse of glory, unveiled and galloping

16. Honor reached its length and width
And extended to him in width and folds

17. And the clan of Ash'ar who filled the earth
With men, helpers, and horses

18. A resilient clan - whenever it hit time
It only left ruins in the desolate places

19. The pursuit of glory, first and last
And the glorious ones are one clan

20. And stars - when they shine forth
You imagine the falling of stars in the stars

21. It is as if the origins were branches
And the branches were origins

22. And the lovers of the Messenger and People of the House
With a love that pleases the Messenger

23. They took its white skin so they remained
With its interpretation and revelation

24. You reckon the white hair from the calamity as youth
When the polished meets the polished

25. So when they fight they humiliate the mighty
And when they make peace they honor the disgraced

26. And if the glory of a group departs one day
The sword prevents their glory from vanishing

27. Oh Abu Ja'far, your superiority has departed
Eloquently upon the generous, gloriously

28. Your abundant kindness returned little
And I see your generosity making the generous miserly

29. I do not think the misers will thank you
Even if it was early and late

30. Your giving from other than them gave praise
And bestowed abundantly

31. How many positions of your generosity
Were like the dripping of clouds alternatively

32. In the presence of a serene face - if it appeared
To the sorrowful it returned eased

33. The envious have despaired of you and were
Regretfully looking toward you perplexed

34. And they saw that when they compared
Their efforts to you mentally, they melted away

35. So they turned their eyes and hearts away
Not looking back except degraded and despised

36. And it suffices me - He who bestows superiority
Is with you a proof against the envious
