وَاِزدَدتَ فيها عَجزاً وَلَم تَكِسِ

٢. عَطشانَةٌ أَخلصَت مَوَدَّتَها
لِمَن سَقاها كوبَينِ في نَفَسِ
3. You blame her going astray though you made
Her choose between a donkey and a horse
٣. تَلومُها ضَلَّةً وَقَد جَعَلت
تَختارُ بَين الحِمارِ وَالفَرَسِ
4. If the owner of a house was visited by two guests
One free and one captive
٤. وَصاحِبُ البَيتِ إِن أَلَمَّ بِهِ
ضَيفانِ مِن مُطلَقٍ وَمُحتَبَسِ
5. You left her while she was halfway between
Possession and marriage
٥. خَلَّفتَها وَإِنصَرَفتَ وَهيَ عَلى ال
مَنصَفِ بَينَ الإِملاكِ وَالعُرسِ
6. If you forgot her, no wonder
Adam vowed to God and forgot
٦. إِن كُنتَ أُنسيتَها فَلا عَجَبٌ
قَد عاهَدَ اللَهَ آدَمٌ فَنَسي
